"So, this is gonna be your room for a while", Reki said as we entered through the door. I walked in after Reki.
Honestly, I was at a loss for words. "You think you can handle it here?", Reki asked turning around. I didn't reply tho.. "you've got your own bed ofcourse, a desk to do your schoolwork at, if you want I can even take the tv thats in my room and put it in here if that would make you more comfortable. I know its not much but..", Reki said.
Reki.. its too much..
I still couldn't get any words out.. I just stood in the door opening not knowing what to say. I suddenly felt two hands on my shoulders. "What do you think?", I heard Masae say from behind me. "Its amazing, you are the best", I replied. Even tho I wanted to make it sound more happy, I couldn't really.. "Are you okey, Hunter?", Reki asked me looking at me with a concerned expression, to which I simply nodded without looking at him. "Lets give Hunter some space, Reki", Masae said. "Go look around the room and make yourself comfortable. We'll be having lunch in about an hour. If you're hungry that is, you can join us as the table downstairs", she said lovingly. I looked at Reki and he gave me a warm smile. He walked towards me and gave me a hug. "I'm happy you're here now", He said ruffeling my hair.
With that, Masae and Reki walked out the room leaving the door open. I slowly started to look around the room. I walked towards the desk and noticed a few pictures of their family. I picked one up and saw a photograph of Reki when he was younger playing in the mud. A defeated smile appeared on my face. After a second of looking at it, I put it back down. I walked towards the window and noticed it had a view over the street. I turned around and walked towards the door. I could hear voices from downstairs. It was only then tears started to form in my eyes. I softly closed it and made my way to the bed.
I sat down and leaned all the way back against the wall. I pulled up my knees to my chest and wrapped my arms around them.
Soft cries could suddenly be heard throughout the room.
Why is this happening? I.. want to go home..

"Thank you for the food, Ms Kyan", I said bowing my head after I had sat down at the table. "Oh sweety, I told you, you can just call me Masae", she replied with a smile. "So, how're you liking your new room?", Reki asked me as he started to fill up his plate. A small laugh escaped my head as it looked like Reki had been starving for days. "Its great, I love it", I replied with a smile, "I'm really thankfull".
"Thats good to hear. Tho I have some more good news I think", He said taking a bite of his selfmade sandwich. I looked at him wondering what he was gonna say tilting my head a bit in the process. "I asked Miya to come over and hang out", Reki started, "I thought you might like that". "Oh..", I started, "for me?". "Langa is coming too, but you just focus on Miya", Reki said mocking me a bit. "I could feel a blush spreading on my cheeks. "Oh, does Hunter have a small crush?", Masae suddenly asked. "Oh, a big one", Reki replied. "Stop it..", I said feeling really embarrassed. "Do you think I can read that story you wrote? I'm actually curious. Oh! Am I in it?", he said enthusiastically. All I did was narrow my eyes at him. "Okey jeez, I was just curious", He said going back to his food.
"So you're a writer?", Masae said. "I.. guess", I said as I shrugged my shoulders taking another bite of my food.
"Can you tell me what you write about?", Masae asked. "Miya..", we suddenly heard Reki softly say. I instantly kicked him under the table for as far I could reach him. Ofcourse not as hard to hurt him but more to scare him a bit. "I've written more stories, Reki..", I replied back to him.
I turned my attention back to Masae as I tried to give her a short answer. "I uh.. mostly write my own stories to help me figure out my feelings and stuff. If I write them down, I know what to do with them better. And at some point I decided to make stories out of it".
"Sounds like you're smart", Masae started, "unlike some people in this household", she finished as she looked at Reki mockingly. "Hey! I've got my talents!", Reki said defensivly.
I laugh escaped my lips as I looked at their interaction. "We're happy you can join us here for a bit", Masae said turning her attention back to me. I politely nodded wanting to give her an answer, but I got interupted by a familiar voice.
"So I'm here, what now", we suddenly heard a someone say from behind me. "Miya, hey!", Reki said as he stood up, "want something to eat?". Reki signalled for Miya to sit down at the table and so he did.
It didn't take long for them to start having a conversation. It was like Miya came here a lot more often. I got lost in my thought looking at them talk to eachother. It was like their voices were getting drowned out. Negative thoughts started making their way to my mind as I saw them sitting at the table happily.
You're all alone.. you do not belong here..
I wanted to make the thoughts go away, but it was really hard for me to do so..
I breathed in and out trying to calm myself down a bit. I suddenly got pulled out of the state I was in by Reki saying something towards me.
"Shall we go up to my room? I think Langa will be here any second now as well"
