--------Astrid pov-------

I woke up, still tired, and slowly opened my eyes. I was alarmed when I didn't recognize anything around me, from the white fur blanket that I was lying on, the beautifully built wooden cabin that I was in, or even the beautiful scenery from the window next to the bed. I didn't even recognize the chair that Hiccup was sitting on as he leaned, asleep, on my bed. Wait... Hiccup? That's right- I was dead. I had lept off the cliff in the last dragon raid, which meant that this must be Valhalla. At least the villagers on berk would be better off.

I looked over at the boy I loved, who despite not knowing anything about my feelings for him was waiting for me as I woke up, even though he had died long before I had. I resolved to tell him as soon as he woke up. As I looked over him I realized that he looked different- and not in a bad way. Here in Valhalla he had lean muscles that he never had back when we were alive and he looked even better than he had before, but that is honestly not saying a ton.

I sat up and shrugged off the covers, careful not to wake hiccup as I got out of bed and went to lift him into it. I managed to do so without waking him up and then I climbed back into bed next to him. I put my arms around him and then drifted back to sleep.

----------Hiccup pov----------

When I woke up I realized that one- I had fallen asleep the coffee must not have done its job like I had hoped it would and two- that I was no longer sitting next to my bed, where I had set Astrid after returning home from the raid, but I was now in it, with the girl of my dreams sleeping next to me. I wonder how that happened? I thought as I got out of bed, careful not to wake the sleeping Valkyrie next to me.

"Hiccup?" came a sleepy voice from behind me as I was halfway to the door and I froze I reached up to touch my face and realized that the scales had receded while I was sleeping- well sh**  I growled in dragonese without thinking. I turned around and jumped when I saw that Astrid was no longer in bed, but walking towards me, slowly. Dam she was beautiful.

"Ye.. yes Astrid" I stuttered "Why don't you go back to sleep and I'll go see if I can get you anything better to wear than that wedding dress" By now she was almost right next to me

"But I'm finally with you again, I don't want you to leave me again," she said, slightly louder than before, but still quiet. "I want you to stay with me no matter where we are" Then she kissed me

I was so confused. what the heck had gotten into her? why is she kissing me, not that I mind, but why? I instinctively started to bring forth my scales, but quickly suppressed them and kissed her back. I don't know what this is, but I'm not gonna turn it down.

she pulled away before lightly saying "sorry" when she saw the surprise on my face. I was speechless. We were saved from the awkward silence when the door opened and in came a little girl

"Daddy Daddy, are you awake yet? Yay, you are" A smile spread across my face as I saw my beautiful daughter run over to me and jump into my arms "Daddy who's that?" she asked, pointing to Astrid, and when I looked over I saw her smile gone, replaced by a frown and her skin almost as pale as her dress. I frown at the sight and make a mental note to ask her what's wrong later.

"That's Ast-" I get cut off by the little angel in my arms yelling "Mommy!" and jumping out of my arms to run over to Astrid, whose color seemed to be returning and her scowl replaced by a look of confusion.

"Who is this?" Astrid asked calmly while looking at the little girl who was now tugging at her dress trying to get her to hold her while calling "mommy mommy mommy" This was not good- once that girl gave someone a name you could NEVER get her to call you anything else.
