Chapter 4- A much-needed explanation

Sorry that it has taken me so long to write another chapter. My schedule is always full and it is hard to think of what to write sometimes. I will try to make more frequent updates, but I won't make any promises. If anyone reading this has any ideas wants something to happen or has an idea for a new character then please let me know. now, on to the story

"Brother! Why didn't you tell me you finally found someone?"

"Well, Daggur that might be because it happened last night at the raid and there isn't anything going on between us. She just didn't realize where she was sitting." I said in response to Daggur's question, then I looked over at Astrid who looked even more confused and embarrassed than before, but, I had to admit, she still looked as beautiful as ever.

"Okay, okay, I was getting there. So I guess I sh..."

"So Brother, when is the wedding going to be? It has to be at least as extravagant as the one you put on for Mala and me, no It must be more so! Which means that it will take at least a year to prepare for it, no. A year and a half at the very least. I will begin at once!" the former chieftain exclaimed before running out to do who knows what, but presumably to begin preparations for a non-existent wedding... however much I wanted it to happen I knew it wouldn't. I would just clear up the misunderstanding with Daggur later.

"WHAT IN HELLHEIM IS GOING ON? EXPLAIN! NOW!" came a shout from next to me as Astrid finally snapped out of her confusion

"I was trying to before I was interrupted. Now let's start from the beginning...-

After I had been selected to kill the monstrous nightmare, I went to the cove where I trained toothless and I prepared to leave...

"Wait, Who is toothless?" Astrid asked

"The night fury that you met this morning before you passed out from the shock" I replied with a bit of a chuckle, "now would you like the story to continue?" the look of shock on her face made me laugh "If you don't have any more questions I will continue. -

I had packed and prepared to leave. now, the only thing that was left was to make sure that no one would follow me. I locked Toothless's tail into place, something I had figured out how to do so that he could fly at least a little bit without me, and told him to come during the next raid and grab me to make it look like I had been taken by the dragons. In reality, though, he just picked me up then glided over to the cove so that we could get our stuff before leaving the island completely. After that, we left and didn't look back for over a year.

During that year we went on many amazing adventures. we faced a significant amount of dangers too, but we came out all right, even gained a few allies. The most fun that I had was my time as a ranger's apprentice. I was trained in the ways of the Rangers of Araluen by one of their greatest, Will Treaty. (Immagine Hiccup being along with Will through the Halt's peril and emperor of Nihon-ja books as his apprentice)

I traveled with him while learning his craft until I had gotten almost as good as him, but I knew I wouldn't be able to stay any longer because I needed to return to the archipelago. I helped him train his own change wing and terrible terror before I left so we can keep in contact though. When I returned, I..."

the doors were thrown open with a loud crash as a new figure walked in the door. "Hiccup, what is this about you getting married? why have I not been told?!"

"Jeese mom! what are you doing causing such a big ruckus?!? I'm not getting married! Daggur just got over-excited when he saw that Astrid was sitting in the Cheiftess's spot. She didn't know what she was doing and it's not that big of a deal, see!" I said gesturing over to Astrid who, it looked like, was still processing what was happening.
