Wedding bells ring.
Before this Christian community that represents the church of God, I ask you: If anyone has an impediment for this union to take place, say it now or keep silent forever.

Outside the church door stood a boy. The boy looked through the window where a wedding was being celebrated while his mother was dying. That boy was L. He felt terrible leaving his mother behind to find his father, but when he looked into the window, he saw his father with another woman.
Running into the wedding barefoot, L cried with emotion, "Sir, please stop the wedding! He's my father, and my mother is dying!" The crowd was shocked and confused as the priest asked L's father, "Is this true?" "No, sir, I haven't seen this boy before; he isn't my child," replied L's father to the priest.

The confusion grew as L was shut out from the church. His cries became more forceful, a knot in his throat, as he banged on the church doors, begging to be let back in. Unaware that his mother had died, L took one last look at his father with his girlfriend on his arm before saying, "May God bless you and forgive you, ungrateful father," as he ran back home, crying with his soul shattered into pieces.

When L arrived home, the door was wide open, and his mother had passed away. His heart was cold, not knowing what to do.
"I'm sorry mother you went through all this pain...."
"...Dad cheated on you while you were sick"
"...To-day was t-he we-d-d-ing"
L said, tears shining on his face.

The door of L's house was still wide open, and he didn't have time to close it; his mother had fallen unconscious. When he peeked outside, it was snowing. L put on his winter clothing he took a glance at his mother before saying, "Goodbye, Mother, may you be happier in heaven."

This time, his tears were warm. L stepped outside, wandering the streets of England, still barefoot. He sat on a bench, and a kind old man greeted him. "Hello, boy, are you okay? Why do you cry?"

L looked at the man in slience before replying, "M-y fa-th-er che-a-ted and my mo-the-r died" The old man smiled, "It's okay. I'll help you. Come with me." He held out his hand.

The man named Watari and L gently walked to Wammy's House. When L arrived, he could still hear the bells.
