Decision

I have a very big problem...

Were her very thought once she caught herself going back to her old ways

Months ago Danielle, under series of heavy conviction, had given her life to Christ

But there's one problem she struggle with and she's sure that every other teenager like her struggles with it too

Porn...

Danielle could safely say that she's a Porn Addict, away from the prying eyes of her Christian parents, siblings and friends

Her personal life is hoarded with this disease that didn't seem to go away

Condemning thoughts came flying into her head as she sat on her bed trying to fix this mess

She fixed her eyes on her flaws and problems, thinking that on her own she can work a solution

She failed to look to the written Word of God

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus
~Romans 8:1

She was slipping and she knows it
Dangerously slipping back to being an un regenerated soul

Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come
~Second Corinthians 5:17

A new creation?

But how can she overcome this sin.
How?

Danielle is surrounded by everything that addresses sex in a promiscuous way

Books, music, conversations, movies, pictures

She is very sure that there is no way to avoid it all seeing that it is part of the society but the negative side of it

A bible verse came to mind

Shifting on her bed, Danielle retrieved her newly bought Bible from under the pillow and positioned it in her lap, flipping the pages

Her blue eyes landed on Romans 7 verse 24 to 25

Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then I serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin

Her forehead creased, buried in her thoughts, she tried to rack her brain for the possible meaning of this verse

Reading the chapter from the very beginning, she noticed that she and the apostle Paul shared the same problem

A struggle with sin

But the question lies...

How did he break the bundles of sin?

He certainly did say that law of sin rules his flesh, the unregenerated mind

So how?

Her eyes looked at the book again, at the very end if the page, there was a scripture reference to Romans 6 verse 6

She quickly flipped the page yet again to that scripture

We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the sinful body might be destroyed and we might no longer be enslaved to sin

Deep in thought, her eyes wandered aimlessly around the page until another verse caught her attention

So you must also consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus
~ Romans 6 verse 11

Danielle lifted her head, thinking about how cryptic the bible can be to her sometimes

In a split second the understanding came to her

When she gave her life to Christ, her sinful nature was hung on the cross, when Christ rose from the dead, he gave her a new life, pure and sin free

Danielle realized that she had power over sin, and that she can willingly choose to be a slave of sin or she can choose to have victory over sin

And by His grace alone, she has the power of overcome sin

A wonderful idea struck her brain, its like in cartoons when the character had a light bulb over their head

She could limit her time watching TV shows that reveal porn, delete all forms of music that have perverted lyrics from her phone, make sure that each book she read its educational, inspirational but it doesn't mean that she couldn't read fantasy or thriller books

She can choose to do all that and she can choose to not do it

Closing the Bible on her lap, Danielle remembered that when she gave her life to Jesus, it wouldn't include any playing around with sin

It mean that she would live her life for His glory

And that...

... she deliberately and consciously...

... chose to do...
