The pitch black sky stared back at them, adorned with the beautiful array of stars and constellation
A bright light swished across the sky and a smile appeared on Amanda's face. She gently nudged her elbow against the side of the young boy laying beside her
"Make a wish" she whispered and the boy closed his eyes and opened it in satisfaction
"Mummy, do you really have to go up there" said the boy after a long silence
A sigh escaped her lips. Amanda had tried time and time again why she needs to go on board to the space station orbiting the Earth
Working as an aeronautical engineer for the NASA has landed her the opportunity to travel to the space station where a technical fault has happened
Trying to explain this to her little boy is hard, but she has assured that she would come back anyway
But the question still lingered Do you really have to go up there
"Have you ever wondered why the stars have so many colours" she instead questioned therefore earning a shake of the head from the boy
"Well its because of its temperature, every star colour differ in temperature. The hottest star in the universe is the blue star with over 50,000 centigrades as its temperature"
"Wow" he marvelled amazed by the wonders of the universe. He always asked his mother about what goes on up there
His curiosity got the best of him that he once announced that in the future he would be an astronaut
Though he was sad that his mother is going up even though she promised lots of stories, a part of him was scared that she might never come back
A loud horn pierced through the silence. It was Amanda's older brother Kennedy.
Her little boy Tyler is going to be staying with them, now that she's going away
They both stood up and made their way into the house for they were in the backyard
"Mummy, would you bring back a space rock" Tyler asked with a downcast look
"I'll try" was Amanda's reply before kneeling to his height and engulfing him in a huge bear hug
