Sylvio and Nadia napped on Lance as he read up on Altea's history, the quiet hum of the castle was a peaceful sound and one Lance was now used to, the kids and family on the other hand were still getting used to everything. Marco was snoring on the couch with his head in Alex's lap while he drew, and Rachel was bored out of her mind. "I am so bored" she whined, "You are fine, Rach. Read a book" Lance said, flipping the page with interest. "I can't it's all in Altean, I have no idea how to read that. Can you?" she looked at him, "Yes, Altea's history" he showed her the book, but the title was in Altean. "How?" she asked dumbfounded and he shrugged, "No idea, I understand it a lot easier than Human or Galra words to be honest" he told her and went back to being comfortable with the kids, his babies have been eating good and are having basically their first adventure though Lance was half regretting bringing them out in war zone but the other half of him was damn glad he got them away from his other side of the family.

Luis that spineless no-good bastard, just the thought of the man made anger grow inside Lance's chest, "What's wrong?" Rachel asked making Alex look over, "Nothing... just angry a bit that I left the kids alone and didn't go back sooner..." he said quietly, running a hand through Sylvio's hair as Nadia was snuggled close to his side with her gray bunny in her arms, "They missed you, we really thought you died... the kids were the ones who might have taken it a bit harder than us. You three are so close in a bond" Alex replied softly, "I know... it hurts more that they'll never be able to me V. She would have loved them to bits and hopefully baby them more than she babied me" the chuckle that left their lips was a hurting one, their hearts panged uncomfortably as they remembered Veronica McClain. A hardworking woman and the woman who practically raised Lance since he came to the family with his bastard of a father, they remembered that day. When Lance and his father came home, Rachel could remember that day clearly. Lance's small hands were covered in blood, Yjok dragging him by the back of the neck and slammed the door closed to the basement, the screams of her brother always haunted her anytime Yjok was near Lance. She never wanted that man near him again, she's already lost one sibling, she wasn't going to lose another. Luis and Lisa can take their asses somewhere else because when this was all over, Rachel planned on cutting her mother, older brother and sister-in-law out of her life. None of them would have access to Lance or the kids, she'd make sure of it and no doubt Marco would agree with her 100%.

The castle's alarm suddenly went off, with the sudden loud sounds Lance jolted and threw the book, his hands flying to his ears as the kids and Marco jolted awake. "What the--?" "Everyone to the bridge, there's an intruder in the castle!" Allura's voice rang throughout the castle through the PA's, the kids were scared but Lance somewhat reassuring smile made them run to Rachel so he could try limiting the loud sounds in his ears as the family ran to the bridge along with the other Paladins also hurrying to the bridge. "What floor?" Keith called, over the last few days, all the Paladin's have been in their armor just in case. Now was as any good time to have it on. They had been tracking a code Shiro said was in his arm but honestly, they weren't sure where the coordinates in that code led them to. "Level 5" she disarmed the alarms for Lance so he could be functioning better, they ran to level five but separated and Lance had to assure Keith that he'd be fine on his own, so he went to the next hall. He took in a shaky breath and let his features change, letting his Neko ears come out to get a better hearing better to do this without a helmet, but this was better than nothing, so helmet stayed on. He focused, listening, and shrieked when the intruder came right for him. He shot, missing as they dodged, "Oh no!" he ducked as the intruder jumped over him, Coran making comments. "Coran, not helping!" he groaned, "Someone's mad as a wet chuper" Coran snickered, "Coran!" Lance hissed and ran after the intruder who went behind a corner.

"Coming your way number 5!" Pidge slide to a stop looking for the intruder, they quickly barrel rolled from Pidge's right and she ducked as they jumped over her like they did Lance, she shot her weapon that they grabbed and pulled along with them. "He's dragging Pidge away!" Lance had just turned the corner, "Pidge!" he ran after them, they passed Hunk as he shot his cannon. "Hunk!" Pidge hissed as she was almost hit by his cannon, "Watch the aim!" Lance called quickly and hurried past the hall after Pidge and the intruder. "Sorry!" he ran after, "Oh, Hunk failed the team Guys" Coran said solemnly, "Hey!" Hunk whined in protest, "I am giving him a major talking to after this" Lance muttered, putting away his Neko ears since the running was now starting to get too loud for him. "All right it's up to Keith now" "Copy that" he readied his sword, prepared.
