Link's P.O.V
"I can't believe you did that without me knowing!!" My wife, Christy yells.
"I wanted to buy you that necklace you wanted for your birthday, and I didn't have enough money! I said I was sorry!" I said. I was trying not to yell at her, I didn't want to seem mean.
"Sorry isn't going to fix this! You literally had a kid with someone else!" Christy was really mad at me.. She had never yelled at me this much before.
"It's not like I slept with her! Look, I was like 20 something and in love! Please forgive me! Lucy is actually a really talented girl, her mothers sent me a video, here watch it." I pressed play on the video and handed her my phone. Lucy was an amazing singer, I'm kinda jealous to be honest.
Christy watched the whole 2 minute video. "Wow," she said, handing me my phone. "She looks just like you. She has an amazing voice too." Christy smiled.
"So, can she stay here for the summer?" I ask. I really hope she says yes, because I've already kinda told her moms that she could come...
Christy paused for a bit. "Yes."
I cheered. "Thank you! I'll go call her moms right now!" I called her one of her moms, Valerie. Christy went to one of the kids room, to explain to them who Lucy was and why she was going to be staying with us this summer.
"Link?" Valerie answered.
"I talked to Christy, and after hours of her yelling and me apologizing, I finally convinced her to let Lucy stay here for the summer!" I say.
"About that," she says. "We told Lucy, and she ran off to her friends house."
Does she really not wanna meet me? "What if I come to Indiana and stay for a few days! And when it's time for me to leave, she can come with me!" I say. I think that's the best idea I've ever come up with. I'm kinda proud of myself.
"That's perfect Link! Ok well Alison and I are going to find Lucy and tell her! See you next week maybe?"
"Yes! Well I might have to check with Christy, but I'm sure she'll say yes! Goodbye!" I say.
She hung up. Christy walked in carrying our youngest son, Lando. "What will I say yes to?"
I ran over to her and Lando. "Lucy isn't too excited about meeting me, so I'm going to Indiana next week! Just for a few days, and I wanted to make sure that you'll be fine with the kids." I say.
Christy sighs and looks at Lando. "I pooped." Lando says. Christy hands him to me. Man, he STINKS. What have we been feeding him?
"You can go. But you have to take care of the kids until you leave." Christy says, walking away, leaving me with a smelly child.
"Okay." I say. "Lando what have you been eating, man?" I take Lando to his room and change his diaper and his clothes. He sits on his bed and tells me that he doesn't know what he's been eating. I say "okay" and walk out of his room.
I grab my phone out of my pocket and search for Lucy on Instagram. After scrolling through tons of Lucy's, I finally find her. She's not private, perfect. I spend the next 20 minutes, looking at all of her posts and followers/followings. I'm not a stalker, I just want to know everything about her before we meet.
Wait, is that considered stalking?
She's following some YouTubers, I think I know some of these. Maybe, if I get at least one of them on mine and my best friend Rhett's podcast, she'll love me forever! I just have to find out who her favorite one is.
"Whatcha doin?" My oldest daughter, Lily asks looking over my shoulder. I quickly throw my phone in the ground.
"Uh nothing." I say. "Let's go to the movies! It's only like 5:00! I'll call Rhett and he can bring his kids! Yeah, let's go! Go get ready Lily! And tell Lincoln! " I jump up and grab my phone. Lily runs off to her room. I knew that Lando wouldn't want to go to the movies. He doesn't really like to sit through them. I called Rhett and wait for him to answer.
"Wassup Linkster?" He said.
"Don't call me that." I said. "The kids and I are to see a movie, and I thought you might want to come."
"What movie?" He said.
"We'll figure it out once we get there." I said grabbing the car keys. Lily and Lincoln walk in, dressed and ready to go. I gave them a thumbs up, they both smile and give me one too.
"Okay. Locke and I will meet you at McDonald's." Rhett hung up.
The kids and I rush out the door. I don't really know why we're in a hurry. It's not like the movie is just now starting.. "LILY, LINCOLN, AND I ARE GOING TO THE MOVIES!" I yelled just before closing the door.
The kids and I hopped in the mini van, and I drove to McDonald's, where Rhett and his oldest son Locke, were meeting us.
We sat in the car until Rhett pulled up beside us. He and Locke stepped out and hopped into my mini van. Rhett sat in the passenger seat (obviously) Locke sat in the back with Lily and Lincoln.
"So what are we gonna watch?" I asked. Everyone looked around at each other. Rhett looked at the kids then looked back at me. He shrugged.
"What about that Dinosaur movie?" Lincoln asked. "It looks cool!"
"YEA!" Lily and Locke said in unison.
"Dinosaur movie it is." I said as I pulled out of the McDonald's parking lot.

Jurassic World (the dinosaur movie) was actually a really good movie. I screamed a few times, and the kids laughed at me. On our way to McDonald's, all of the kids fell asleep. Now's the time to tell Rhett about Lucy.
"Rhett, I need to tell you something." I said.
Rhett looked at me. "What is it? Are you getting a dog? Are you quitting YouTube? Dude I can't to GMM without you!"
"No, and no!" I said. "I have another daughter." He said nothing for awhile. I thought he'd fallen asleep.
"Is Christy pregnant?" He asked.
I shook my head. "Nope, my daughter is 15 and she lives in Indiana." I explained the whole situation to Rhett, he seemed confused at first, but I'm pretty sure he understands, now.
"Wow, is she going to live with you?" He asked.
"No, her moms only want her here for the summer. If she likes it here, then maybe she'll get to come back every summer." I said.
The rest of the car ride was silent. I dropped Rhett and Locke off at Rhett's car and drove home. Lily and Lincoln were still sound asleep. I pulled over and called Valerie.
"Link we found her!" Valerie said.
"Can I talk to her?" I asked.
"Uh- yeah." She said. For awhile, I heard nothing. It was silent.
"Who are you?" A girl said. I assumed it was Lucy.
"I'm Link. Link Neal. Is this Lucy?"
"Why would you want to know?"
Dang, she's sassy! "Lucy, I am your father." that sounded a lot less nerdy in my head...
"Okay Darth Vader. I'm Lucy and if you'll excuse me, I need to be practicing. I have to sing at a funeral next week, so bye."
"W-wait! Lucy!"
She hung up.
I threw my phone in the passenger seat and drove home. I thought about Lucy, she was 15 years old, and that phone call was the first time I'd ever heard her voice. I feel like such a bad father. I could have at least sent a letter, or an email.
She probably hates me, I wouldn't blame her. I've been a terrible father, and I hope I can make it up this summer.
