Chapter 5

Lucy's P.O.V
I laid face down on David's bed. "Lucy, you have to go home today." David said. He was sitting next to me on his bed. I didn't want to go home. I didn't want to see Link.

"I don't have to." I said sitting up. "I can elope with someone and we can move to New York! You can come too! We can finish school online!"

"You're gonna elope?" David and I looked over to see Seth standing in the doorway. "I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT! COME ON LUCY LETS GO!" Seth said as he grabbed my hand.

David sighed and stood up. "Seth, Lucy can do way better than you. Lucy elope with someone rich. Wait, what am I saying?!" David pushed Seth out the door and closed it behind him. David turned to me and grabbed my hands.

"I can't go home, Davie. I'd rather elope with Seth." I said. I wanted to cry. David hugged me, and told me it was OK to cry. So I did. "He's taking me to LA in a few days and he has a family. What if I screw everything up?"

"You won't, trust me. And technically you're apart of his family." David said. I pulled away from him, he smiled at me. I wiped the tears from my eyes and smiled back.

"SO CAN WE ELOPE LUCY?" Seth yelled through the door. David and I both glanced at each other and sighed. I walked to the door and opened it. Seth was standing there, smiling, and he was holding some fake flowers.

I took the fake flowers and smiled back at him. "No but you can drive me home." I said walking past him. I said goodbye to Molly, and their parents.

"Bring me back a hot guy." Molly said. I laughed and said that I'd try. David rushed down the stairs and hugged me. "Be safe. And remember to FaceTime me everyday!" He said.

"I'm not leaving until Friday, and I'm sure you'll come to the airport with me and my moms." I said giving him the fake flowers Seth had given me. Seth came down the stairs and grabbed his car keys.

I said bye to everyone. Seth and I got in the car. We both buckled up. Seth started driving, neither of us said anything. "Lucy," Seth broke the silence. I looked at him. Seth turned down the radio. "Will you go out with me?"

I didn't know what to say. If I said yes, Maci would hunt me down and kill me. If I said no, I could never go to David's house. "Well, Seth, I'm, uh, very flattered, but I'm leaving in a few days and I don't think my moms will let me go anywhe-"

"Just to like, the movies or something. Its not like a date or anything, it'll be like, two friends hanging out." Seth said. He parked the car in my driveway and looked at me. He had beautiful green eyes, and dark brown hair.

"Yes, but it's just going to be like two friends hanging out. Nothing more. Thank you for the ride home." I unbuckled and grabbed the door handle, I didn't want to open it.

"I'll pick you up at 7:00." He said.

I let go of the handle and turned to Seth. "You know what? Let's go elope, I've always loved you, let's go!"

Seth grabbed my shoulders. "Look, I'd love to marry you, but you need to talk to your father. Come one Lucy! And I'm pretty sure that we're too young to elope. But you need this more than anything." He said. I looked down. After thinking about the whole situation for a few minutes, I nodded. "Go get 'em tiger." Seth reached over and opened my door. I stepped out and closed the door. Seth gave me a thumbs up, and drove off.

I slowly walked to my door. I was hoping the neighbors dog would come and drag me away, but sadly, Nibbles the Chihuahua never showed. The door was locked, so I rang the door bell. I was about to jump into the bushes when Mama Ali opened the door.

"Lucy!" She said as she embraced me. Mama Val rushed to the door and hugged me. "You're home!" Mama Val said.

Mama Ali walked inside. Mama Val stayed outside with me. "Can I tell you something?" I asked her.
