Link's P.O.V
Lucy hadn't left the garage in about a week. She sat in her room and cried all day. I tried to bring her food a few times, but she refused to eat. I called Valerie, and she told me just to leave her alone and that they'd adopt cat when she got home.
I felt terrible, Lucy was supposed to come to LA to be happy, not to have her cat DIE!! I walked in her room, which had some posters and a huge picture collage, which covered half a wall.
"Lucy," I stood at the door. "Let's go somewhere." I needed to get her out of the house.
"No thank you." Lucy was laying face first on her pillow. I sat down next to her. She kinda smelled...
"Lucy please." I begged. "You haven't left the garage in a week. Lily thinks you're dead!"
"I just want to go home." She mumbled.
"Lucy," I paused, trying to think of a plan to get her up. I grabbed her and tried to pull her up out of bed.
"No thank you." She sat back down on her bed.
"Lucy, please!" I was getting upset. She needed to get out of the house! Lucy laid on her bed.
I walked out and called Valerie.
"What's up Link?" Val answered.
"Lucy won't get up out of bed!" I said.
"I told you to leave her alone, she'd eventually get over it."
"I can't stand to see her this sad, Val! Please, help me! I want her to be happy!" I was worried about Lucy. She was happy until she came to California. I'm such a bad father!!
"What if," Val paused. "You get her to get a dog! She's always wanted one but Alison never let her have one! I'm sure Ali will be fine with one now!"
I didn't really want to get a dog, but if it meant making Lucy happy... "What kind of dog?" I asked.
"Um," she paused. "she LOVES Saint Bernard's!"
Oh great, a big dog.. My kids are going to want to keep the dog, and it'll have to go home with Lucy, and then they'll be sad because they don't have a dog.
"Okay, and what if the dog doesn't work?"
"I'll send David, Molly, and Seth to visit!"
"That's an amazing idea!" I said. They seemed like really nice people. But I didn't really like the fact that Seth would be coming.. He seemed really nice, but I'd be worried about him and Lucy.
"Well I need to go help Alison at the bakery. See you later!" Val hung up. I immediately, ran to the computer and looked up 'Saint Bernard's for sale!"
I found a puppy just a few miles away from my house. It was black and white, and it was a girl. She was only 7 months old. I didn't like the idea of getting a puppy, but she was cute and I thought that Lucy would like her.
I contacted the guy who was selling the puppy. He sounded mean, and tough. I kinda wanted to get the puppy away from that man...
He said that he'd meet me tomorrow at noon! I can't wait to tell Lucy!! I knocked on her door. I heard her mumble "Come in." So I did.
"Lucy, guess what!" I said as soon as I walked in the door.
"What?" She rolled over and looked at me.
"Tomorrow you're coming with me to a secret place!" I immediately regretted saying that.. Ok so now I'm officially the most awkward person ever...
"That doesn't sound right, Link." Lucy laughed at me. I smiled, that's the first time she'd laughed since Mr. S's passing.

The next day, I dragged Lucy out of bed. She was still sad, but I hoped the dog would make her happy again. As soon as we pulled into the mans drive-way, a tall muscular man, walked outside with a leash.
Lucy's eyes widened. "Link, what are we doing?"
"Oh, I thought that you liked dogs?" I said. Lucy smiled and jumped out of the car. The small puppy was black and white, the man let Lucy hold the leash.
"So you're, Charles Neal?" The man said. He made me feel weak and insecure. He was huge and was small. But he was bald, so HA TAKE THAT SCARY MAN!
"Yes I am." I shook his hand. He was strong, he probably could have ripped my arm off...
"Well the dumb dog is yours. I don't need her anymore.." He turned away. I followed him.
"Why did you need her in the first place?" I asked.
"So I could get ladies, duh. But I got one pregnant so now I have to stay with her. Just take them dog and leave." The man went inside. I tried stopping him and giving him money, but he ignored me.
Lucy brought the dog in the car. "Thank you Link!" Lucy was petting the dog, and it was licking her.
"What are you going to name her?" I asked.
She looked at the large puppy. "Hmm." The pup licked her face. "Talia." She hugged the pup.
"You wanna go home? I'm sure the kids would be happy to meet Talia!" I started the car. The whole way home, Lucy was smiling and laughing. She was really bonding with the large pup.
Talia wasn't big, but she wasn't small either. She was kind of in-between.

The kids were OBSESSED with Talia! Talia was amazing with kids! I don't know why that mean man would have wanted to get rid of her!
Talia and Lucy were already BFF's. Lucy was happy, which made me happy. I don't think we'll need David and Seth to cheer her up now! I might still have them come, just for Lucy's sake.
But, Lucy is going to a talented school thing in a few days, so maybe not. I really hope Lucy makes some friends. So if she ever came back, she wouldn't be bored all the time.
Lucy went off to bed with Talia, and the kids went to bed too. I decided to have a chat with Christy...
"I can't believe you did that!" She snapped.
"Did what?" I asked.
"You brought home a stupid animal! I got rid of the cat for a reason, you know?!"
My mouth dropped. "It's for Lucy. Christy, she was depressed!"
"That doesn't give you the right to bring home a dog!"
"It's not staying forever! It's Lucy's dog, Christy." I was trying to be calm with her. I didn't want to yell and worry the kids.
"I don't care, Link! Ever since you brought that stupid kid here she's done nothing but ruin this family!" Christy shouted.
"That stupid kid is my daughter! And she didn't ruin the family! If anything she made it better! Have you ever seen the kids this happy before?" I was still trying not yell, but it was hard. The love of my life just called my daughter stupid...
"I want her gone!" Christy shouted.
"And where's she going to go? I can't just leave her on the streets! I love her too much to do that!" I was yelling now...
"Either she leaves or I leave! You chose." Christy ran off.
Now I was stuck with a decision.. I love Lucy, she's my child! But I have 3 children with Christy.. I just need think about it...
