Something Called Love

"Have you seen my curling iron?" I yelled across the room. "Yeah I have it" Charlotte, my college roommate and best friend, yelled back.

"Can you please put it in my bag I don't want to leave it" I asked. "Okay let me finish first" she replied.

"What are you even using it for?"

"Do I need a reason?" she said emerging from the bathroom with my curling iron in her hand. "Well technically yes since it's mine, but-" I was interrupted by my phone ringing. 

Since she was closer to it, Charlotte picked up, "Hey Anne" she said as she put my curling iron in my bag. 

Their conversation continued, "Yeah she's here....oh she's fine....yeah I'm good too....well we're about to leave for the airport...yeah here she is....okay....bye Anne!"

"Ava" she yelled as she threw my phone. I caught it and brought it to my ear, "Hi mom"

My mother replied, "Ava! Sweetie how have you been? I hope everything is wonderful, okay listen, Harry is going to pick you up at the airport so make sure you text him before you get on the plane and after you get off okay? And you'll be staying with him and the other four One Direction boys so I don't want any funny business alright? I'm trusting you and your brother. Okay well I have to go to work so call me when you get back alright! Love you honey, be safe"

After I was sure she finished talking I said, "Alright mom, understood. I will and I love you too, bye!"

"Did she rant again?" Char asked already picking up some of my bags. "Yup, same old, same old. Be safe and to text Harry when we're at the airport." I explained. 

"Cool, now come on we gotta go. You're flight leaves at 3 and it's already 2:26" she said heading towards the door.

"Wait. I thought I had just hung up with my mother?" I said picking up the rest of my luggage. "Ha-ha, very funny. Now move it"

I threw my purse on my shoulder and we left our dorm room. We were halfway to the elevator when I realized my charm bracelet was missing. "Char wait!" I screamed at her.

She turned around quickly, "What, what happened?" "My bracelet! I left it!" I said. "Go get it. And hurry up we're already late" she said as she threw me the keys. I dropped the bags and ran back, opening the door. 

I frantically looked through everything: my bed, her bed, my nightstand and hers and everything else in between.

After not finding it in our room or the small kitchen, I ran to the bathroom. "Oh come on where are you?" I whispered to myself. I finally found it laying on top of my jewelry box. 

I let out a sigh of relief and grabbed it quickly. "Let's go" I said as I came out into the hallway where Charlotte was waiting. I locked the door, picked up my bags and off we went.

When we reached the bottom we sprinted to my car as fast as possible. If we didn't hurry, I would miss my flight. We threw everything in the trunk and I climbed into the front.

Char sat in shotgun and instantly turned on the radio. "I can't believe I have to spend my birthday without you" Charlotte spoke up on the way to the airport. 

"I know it sucks, but we'll Face-Time and text and email and call and hell maybe even send letter if we have to, but I promise we'll keep in touch" I replied.

"I'm so mad at Harry for taking you away, I hate him" she said. "No you don't, you love him just as much as you love me" I responded. "Whatever, just tell Harry I said hi" she said. "Of course, he really misses you, you know"

"Obviously, I mean who wouldn't miss me?" She joked. I laughed as I parked the car into the lot. We got out and grabbed all the bags. "Great the elevator is broken" Charlotte complained.

"Oh deal with it, you skipped the gym yesterday so this will make up for it" I said starting to climb the stairs. "That was your fault" she said following me. "It was not!" I defended, "you didn't wanna miss your stupid show"

"It's not stupid! Pretty Little Liars is amazing!" She said. "Whatever you say Charlotte" I responded as we reached the top. "Okay...give me...a sec" Charlotte panted. "No time" I said and started running inside with her behind me.

After going through all the airport security and bag checks, Char and I sat down to wait for my flight. "Have you texted Harry yet?" Charlotte asked. "Oh shoot thanks for reminding me" I said as I took out my phone to compose a text.

Me- Hey Harry I'm at the airport and my flight is said to leave in 10 minutes. I'll text you when I'm about to get on. Can't wait to see you !! <3

I got a reply in seconds

Idiot :))- Hey Ava, alright perfect, the boys and I will leave to see you in a while. Text me when you get off the plane as well please !! <3

I replied withal thumbs up and a smiley face and turned back to Char who was gone. I looked around and finally spotted her at a Starbucks a couple feet away. I decided to wait until she came back and went on Twitter to tweet something.

Smiling, I hit tweet just in time for Char to get back. "One vanilla bean frappuccino with no whipped cream and cinnamon for you" she said and handed me my favorite drink. "Thanks" I said and took a sip.

We continued talking about random stuff for a little until the intercom spoke up, "Flight 617 leaving for London is now boarding, Flight 617 leaving for London is now boarding"

"This is it. I'll miss you Ava" Charlotte said as she hugged me. "I'll miss you too Lottie" I said. She finally let me go and I grabbed my carry on and my purse and started walking towards the door. 

I gave my ticket to the lady and turned back one more time to wave to Lottie. After I got seated and put my carry on away, I took out my phone to text Harry.

Me- On the flight, see you soon xoxo

I put my phone on airplane mode and took out my book to quietly read. Getting bored after a couple of chapters, I decided to play music instead. I put my book in the compartment in front of me and plugged in my headphones.

*2 hours later*

I hadn't even realized I had fallen asleep until I was woken up by the lady next to me telling me we were about to land. I quickly thanked her and took out my brush attempting to calm the mess that I called my hair.

After a couple minutes I gave up and just put it into a ponytail. I put away my earbuds and quietly waiting for descent.

yeah that was different wasn't it? I tried to keep the basic storyline, but with more detail. I hope you like this better because the old SCL is gone. I deleted it all and I can't wait to start updating here. Please vote and comment and tell your friends about this story!! <3
