As weeks pass on, things hadn't gotten any better. Jensen had tried, more than once, to show to Harmony how sorry he was, but she simply refused any attempt at a reconciliation. She would act as the perfect wife when in front of others in Court, but in private things hadn't changed.
Jensen did all he could, trying to be a husband to Harmony in more ways than one, but to no avail. There had been one night, where they had attempted to be intimate with each other, but Jensen could tell that Harmony was only going through the motions, and after all that had happened, he just couldn't put her through that. He couldn't force her to have sex with him just so they could have a child together.
For Harmony, that night had been one of the more difficult nights she has had in her life. Trying to have sex with the man that she loves shouldn't be as hard as it was, and yet, she couldn't bring herself to actually enjoy being with him. Instead of enjoying his touch, as she once had, she kept thinking if he touched Lady Teagan the same way, making it impossible for her to feel anything other than contempt towards Jensen and the woman that now carried his child. That was the only time they had tried.
That morning, Harmony is sitting in the living area of her chambers, having tea with Donna and Justice, and just enjoying their company. After her talk with Donna, she realized that she can't keep everyone away, so she decided that she is going to need as many friends as she can get if she is going to survive, hence the tea get-together with Donna and Justice.
As they are talking about upcoming events that are happening in Court, such as the King's Hunt, the doors to her chambers slam open and Jensen stalks into the room, dragging Lady Teagan by her arm, throwing her on the floor in front of them.
-"Jensen! What's going on?" - Harmony asks, startled by his actions.
-"Tell her!" - Jensen commands Lady Teagan.
-"Please..." - The woman pleads.
-"Tell her, or I swear to God, I will take your head clean off right here." - He threatens, his sword already in his hand.
-"Jensen, stop this immediately!" - Donna demands, but is firmly ignored.
-"What does he want you to tell me?" - Harmony asks the woman, trying to remain calm, seeing the woman stand up and pleadingly looking back at Jensen, before looking back at her.
-"I lied. I'm not pregnant."
-"Alright. Is that all?" - Harmony can barely hold back the tears, but has a feeling that that isn't the whole story.
-"No. I told the King that it had been your idea that he sleep with me so he could have an heir. I knew Your Majesty was seeing the physician that morning, so I told the King that the physician had told Your Majesty that you could no longer have any children, therefore you had asked me to give him an heir in your place. The King refused at first, but I can be very persuasive."
-"Why did you lie?" - Harmony can hardly believe what she is hearing.
-"Because you weren't supposed to marry him, I was." - Lady Teagan says, the anger in her voice mirroring her face. -"If you hadn't put on the act of the damsel in distress, he would've married me, not you."
-"You did all of this because you were jealous?"
-"You should've died just like your child, then we could've been together." - The woman screams at Harmony.
Upon hearing this, both Donna and Justice gasp in horror, neither believing that Lady Teagan would go that far. And all of it was the last straw for Harmony. She walks up to Lady Teagan and slaps her as hard as she can, now beyond angry with the young woman, leaving even Jensen shocked at her reaction.
-"That is the last time you ever talk about my child, understand me? You have an hour to pack your belongings. I will arrange for a carriage to take you as far away from Court as possible and you are never to return here. If you refuse to leave or return to Court, I will make sure that you won't live long enough to see another sunrise."
-"Are you going to let her do this?" - Lady Teagan asks Jensen, but before he can answer, Harmony interrupts her.
-"The King can't and won't help you. Not after you ruined his marriage and faked a pregnancy. Guards!" - The guards enter the small room and stand at attention. -"Escort Lady Teagan to her chambers and make sure that she packs her belongings within the hour. Then, make sure she makes her way down to the stables where a carriage will be awaiting her."
-"Yes, Your Majesty."
Harmony watches as Lady Teagan is taken away from the room, still pleading with Jensen to stop what's happening, but being met with only disdain from him. Harmony then sends word to the stable-head, through a servant, to get a carriage ready for Lady Teagan and to take her as far as the horses can go.
Harmony turns to Donna and Justice, and asks them if she can have a moment with Jensen. She knows they need to address what just happened and they need to do it now. Both women quickly agree and hug her, whispering in her ear that they stand with her, before leaving the couple to deal with the aftermath of Lady Teagan's admission.
-"Harmony..."
-"Don't. I know this is all my fault. By pushing you away, I pushed you right into her arms, and I take full responsibility for it. But I'm telling you right now, the next mistress you have better know her place, because I won't admit this behavior from them, got it?"
-"I don't want another mistress, I want my wife."
-"You had your wife, and you chose your mistress. There's no coming back from that."
-"I don't believe that. Harmony, I will spend the rest of my life doing whatever I need to do to show you that I love you and that what happened between myself and Teagan was a one time mistake." - Jensen pleads with her, receiving nothing but silence in return. -"Will you at least be open to start from scratch?"
-"I need time to think and process all of this."
-"Pardon me, Your Majesties?" - A guard interrupts them.
-"What is it?" - Jensen asks.
-"I apologize, Your Majesty, but Lady Teagan is on her way down to the stables but is still refusing to leave."
-"I'll handle it, thank you. Excuse me."
Harmony excuses the guard, and herself, and makes the walk down to the stables. "This woman is starting to get on my last nerve, I swear to God.", she thinks as she arrives at the stables, seeing Lady Teagan standing beside the carriage and Jared trying to convince her to get in.
Approaching Jared from behind, she can hear Jensen's Second-In-Command telling Lady Teagan that this is her only choice and how if she stays it will only make things worse for her. Harmony admires the calmness in Jared's voice but she has had enough. Placing a hand on Jared's arm, slightly startling the man, she gently pushes him aside so she can stand face to face with the woman that set her life on fire.
-"I want to speak with the King. I won't leave until I speak with him."
-"You can either leave or you can die. This is your last chance. If you insist on staying, I will have you executed and your head placed on a fucking pike as a warning to any future mistresses to not mess with the Queen. What's it going to be?" - Harmony warns her, menacingly.
-"I'll...I'll leave."
Harmony watches the woman entering the carriage, and as she is taken away, lets out a breath, shaking her head. She definitely hopes that the next one isn't as bad as this one was. Harmony feels someone coming to stand next to her and she doesn't need to turn to know that it's Jared.
-"Remind me never to get on your bad side, Your Majesty." - He says, with a small smile.
-"Just because I'm usually a very calm and collected woman, it doesn't mean I won't strike down anyone that tries to hurt my family in any way. The only reason I hadn't done it sooner with her was because I was told she was pregnant. Since that is no longer the case..."
Harmony gives Jared a small smile of her own before turning to leave, seeing him smile in return as he nods at her. She knows she hasn't been herself ever since this all started, but now there's a fire in her and she dares anyone to try and put that fire out.
