Letting a breath out, Harmony steadies herself on the bathtub, before telling Jensen everything that happened.
-"Do you remember the letter I received before leaving?"
-"Yes." - Jensen is looking at her intently, his arms perched on his legs.
-"The letter was from one of my father's servants. He wrote that he was worried about Elise, and that my father had begun abusing Elise, beating her senseless. He wrote that, sometimes, my father would beat Elise so hard, that he was scared that my father would end up killing Elise."
-"Why didn't you just told me that. We could've gone there and bring Elise to Court, as King and Queen."
-"Because of something else the servant wrote. According to him, he had overheard my father say how much he hated us, and that if we tried to take Elise away as King and Queen, he would kill her. I couldn't risk it. When I read that, I knew what I needed to do. I also knew that you wouldn't agree with it. That's why I didn't say anything."
"I didn't mean any of the things I said to you before I left. But we were wasting time by arguing, time I didn't had. So, I said the only thing I knew would stop the argument, just so I could leave. I know that I should've told you, but I needed to save Elise and I didn't see any other way."
Harmony wipes the tears away. She feels awful for the way she went about all of it, and hopes that Jensen can forgive her, since she will never forgive herself for hurting him the way she did.
Jensen stays silent, taking everything that Harmony just told him in. She was right when she had said that he wouldn't have agreed to her plan, but still, if she had told him, they could've come up with a plan together that didn't involve her getting herself in danger.
After a few minutes, Jensen stands up and kneels next to the bathtub.
-"You're right, I wouldn't have agreed to your plan. But, in the end, the decision would be yours and yours alone. I probably would've insisted that you take at least two guards with you to keep you safe, but I would have still left that decision to you."
"You hurt me when you said those things about Teagan, Harmony, I'm not gonna lie to you. However, looking back, I know I deserved it. I hurt you when I got involved with Teagan, so it was only fitting that you would use the same thing that hurt you to hurt me."
-"You didn't deserve it, Jensen. Not at all. I didn't mean any of those things. I do trust you and I know that you trust me. I only said what I said so I could end the argument and leave."
-"I know. The only thing that matters right now is that you're home and you're safe."
Jensen caresses her face, before kissing her deeply. While Harmony had been a captive of the rebels, this was something he thought he would never be able to do again. Now, there she is and he doesn't care how it started, only how it ended.
-"I love you, sweetheart. Just, please, no more secrets." - He tells her, caressing her face.
-"No more secrets. I love you too." - She nods. -"There's something else we need to talk about."
-"What is it?" - Jensen leans back, his arms leaning on the side of the bathtub.
-"When I was at the estate, I overheard my father talking to someone, I don't know who. I heard him basically admitting to have sent the rebels to the Castle the day we were attacked, with the intent to kill us both. And since that didn't work as he had hoped, that he would use Elise as leverage against me. Also, back at the rebels' camp, one of the rebels silently admitted that he had been paid by my father to make sure I would die."
-"I'm gonna kill him." - Jensen stands up, his blood boiling, and starts pacing the room.
-"Stop." - She stands in front of him, having getting out of the bathtub and put a robe on. -"As much as I hate to admit this, I want the same thing. He needs to pay for all that he's done. By all accounts, what my father did is considered treason and it should be addressed as such."
"However, we need to go about this in a way that my father won't see coming. As far as he is concerned, I'm still oblivious to the fact that he was responsible for the attack on the Castle and for hiring someone to make sure I died. We can't let him know that we know what he's done and give him a chance at escaping."
-"You're right. And it sounds like you might have something in mind." - Jensen says, letting out a breath, his anger subsiding slightly.
-"I will send a letter to my father, letting him know that we want to make a public apology in front of the whole Court, as well as bestow upon him new lands and title, effectively raising his status and power. He won't refuse coming to Court for this, specially since it would be a chance for him to humiliate us publicly at the same time that he obtains more power."
"Only, as soon as he crosses the gate into the courtyard, he'll be arrested for treason and sent to the dungeon."
-"It sounds like you have everything figured out. I have to say I'm impressed."
-"So, do you agree?"
-"I do. You need to send him the letter as soon as possible for this to work."
-"I need a day or two before I can do that. I need to talk to Elise first about all of this. I think she is entitled to know what our father has done and what we plan on doing."
-"You're right. But you have to talk to her sooner rather than later."
-"I know, and I will. I just need to make sure Elise is okay with all of this."
-"I understand. In the meantime, I will send someone to keep watch over your father, just in case he decides to leave."
-"Have them arrest him and bring him to the Castle, if he does decide to leave."
-"I will."
Jensen pulls her close, his arms wrapping themselves around her, and pulling her close. He kisses her deeply, before pulling her away and just stands there with her in his arms. He can't begin to say just how grateful he is to have her back in his arms. And even though she is safe for now, he knows that that safety will only last when her father can no longer threaten her life.
For now, he will focus on Harmony, making sure she is safe and loved. He will deal with her father when the time comes.
