-Lisa's pov-
I looked into Billie's eyes, panicking. It felt like I was about to collapse. My heart was racing so fast. It was only when Billie exclaimed, "Fuck" that I realized the door had fallen into the lock, trapping us inside.
Usually, situations like this didn't stress me out at all, but this time was different because I had just made out with Billie freaking Eilish. I tried to stay calm and began knocking on the door. Even though there weren't many people visiting the Castello at the moment, there were still enough people around for someone to hear us eventually.
"Open up the door!" I shouted, also trying in Portuguese, saying, "Por favor abra a porta!"
Billie looked at me with a confused expression. "You speak Spanish?" she asked.
"I do speak a little Spanish, but that was Portuguese," I replied.
"So you speak Portuguese too?"
"No, I don't, but the languages are very similar so that I can manage basic sentences in Portuguese."
"You keep impressing me. How many more languages do you speak?" Billie asked.
"Well, French, Spanish, and German, obviously."
"That is impressive, wow."
I got lost in her eyes again. I wanted to kiss her again, but I remembered I should keep knocking on the door and calling for help. It seemed like nobody was hearing us, though.
"I'll just call Zoe to tell her to come and get us out of here," Billie said, unlocking her phone. She opened messages to search for her contact information.
"You should start replying to people. Who the hell has over 900 unread messages?" I asked, playing dumb.
"My friends tend to go crazy in our group chats sometimes," she brushed it off.
Zoe didn't answer, so I called Max on my phone. Luckily, he picked it up, which is a rare occurrence.
I explained where we had locked ourselves up, and he came to our rescue within five minutes, letting us out of the backroom.
"How did you manage to lock yourselves up in there?" he asked, giving me an elevator look.
He could tell from my grin what had happened. One thing about me, I'm terrible at lying, and my friends instantly notice when I'm bullshitting.
Thankfully, she left it at that, and we went back to the rest of the group, who were already waiting outside, sitting on the steps of the Castello. Nobody asked where we had been, but Zoe greeted Billie with a cheeky smile.
"You're back! Since when do you care about boring-ass audiobooks?" she asked her.
"It was interesting, the paintings and stuff. You're just uncultured as fuck, bro."
That remark made me smile a little and gave me confidence that maybe she just wanted to spend some one-on-one time with me.
We returned to the bus and continued heading west towards Cabo Da Roca, a lookout point on the westernmost edge of Europe. The views there were breathtaking. It was incredibly windy, though. The landscape was rocky, but the uphill climb was worth it because, from there, we had a fantastic view of the Atlantic Ocean.
