I don't think I can ever face Lorenzo again. That situation is going to be my nightmare from now on.

I was sitting on Vegas's lap in his office, trying to act all casual and professional. He was explaining some super important stuff to me. His arm was wrapped around my waist, making me feel all warm and fuzzy, while his other hand was pointing at some document, emphasizing his points.

"We are going to break into Korn's safe house, In that safe there are lots of dirty secrets about him, I have already discussed it with Lorenzo and he agreed to it, but what about you? Are you okay with it?"

I pondered for a moment before responding, "Hm, I'm down, but are you sure we'll find something juicy to use against Korn?"

Just as we were deep in thought, Nop barged into the room and cleared his throat. He announced, "Khun Kim is here, he wants to meet Khun Vegas."

Vegas and I exchanged a long, knowing look.

"Hide yourself, In the place where you can hear everything but, no one can suspect your presence," He said, I nodded my head before looking around.

I scanned the room and spotted the perfect spot—a small space between the long cupboard of documents and the wall.

I walked towards the long cupboard of documents, beside it there was a wall. And in between the wall and the cupboard, there was a small space.

I slipped into the hidden nook, Vegas gave me a thumbs-up, and then he ordered Nop to let Kim enter the office.

Vegas

"Hey cousin," I heard the voice of Khun Kim, and my senses sharpened instantly. I straightened myself, ready for whatever intense conversation was about to unfold.

"What brings you here, Kimhan?" I asked, my voice dripping with a hint of danger.

"You know? Pete is missing," Kimhan stated matter-of-factly.

"And what do you want me to do about it?" I retorted.

Kimhan expression was not much surprised as he already knew What I was going to say was a lie.

"Nothing, I'm just telling you," Kimhan replied, seemingly unfazed.

"If you come here just to tell me this, leave respectively," I growled, my eyes narrowing.

But Kimhan had other plans. "Sign this paper," he demanded, his voice daring me to refuse.

"What's this?" I asked, my voice filled with suspicion as I took a moment to examine the document.

"You are not blind, are you? Read them yourself," Kimhan shot back, his words dripping with a mixture of arrogance and challenge.

"You have a brain or not? I'm asking why the fuck I'll sign this?" I snapped, my voice seething with anger.

"My father wants to help you in business. Sign them, and he will-" Kimhan began, but I cut him off.

"And he will snatch everything from me?" I interrupted, my voice filled with defiance.

"You are getting us wrong, Vegas. He just wants to help you," Kimhan pleaded, his tone softening slightly.

"Kim, you think I'm a fool?" I scoffed, my voice oozing with skepticism.

"No, Vegas, listen carefully. My father just wants to help you. He doesn't have any bad intentions," Kimhan explained, his words hanging in the air.

There was a long silence as the intensity of the moment settled around us.

"I asked you one more time, are you going to tell me everything?" I demanded, my voice cutting through the tension.

"There is nothing to tell. The truth is what is in front of us, nothing more, nothing less," Kimhan answered, his voice steady.

"Leave," I commanded, my voice firm and final.

With a loud thud, the door slammed shut, sealing off the outside world.

"Love, you can come out," I said, my voice softer now.

As the door closed, Pete cautiously emerged from his hiding spot. His eyes were filled with concern as he took in the tense atmosphere in the room.

"Kim is doing all of this because of Porchay," He said, his voice tinged with a mix of frustration and concern.

"Deep down, I also pity Kimhan, He just trying to protect his love." I mused.
