"Are you leaving again?" Vegas asked, a hint of disappointment laced in his voice.

I glanced at him through the mirror and nodded, my heart heavy with a mix of determination and sadness.

I wanted to explain, to make him understand, but words seemed futile at that moment. I turned away from the mirror, taking one last look at myself, ensuring there was no trace of the dirty things I had just done with Vegas.

Suddenly, without warning, the tranquility of the room was shattered by the sound of breaking glass. A bullet tore through the window, piercing the air with a chilling whistle.

Time seemed to slow as I watched the glass shatter into a thousand fragments, scattering across the floor like a dangerous mosaic.

The deafening echo of the gunshot reverberated in my ears.

"What the fuck just happened?" I exclaimed, my voice filled with shock and confusion.

The room around us had finally settled into an eerie calm, but my mind was still racing with questions.

Vegas, with a furrowed brow and a tense expression, looked up from his phone call. "I have no fucking clue," he replied, his voice laced with frustration and concern.

He hung up the call and locked eyes with me, his gaze filled with a mix of determination and worry.

"You're not going anywhere," Vegas stated firmly, his voice filled with a sense of urgency.

The weight of his words hit me like a ton of bricks, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.

"What do you mean? What the hell happened?" I demanded, my voice tinged with a mix of fear and impatience. I needed answers, and I needed them now.

"It could be the major family that just attacked us," Vegas gritted out, his voice filled with anger and resentment.

The realization hit me like a punch to the gut. If it was indeed the major family that had targeted us, they would likely know about my presence here. The car parked outside the mansion was a dead giveaway.

I closed my eyes, a wave of defeat washing over me. "Fuck! Why did I have to come here in my car?" I muttered, my voice filled with regret and frustration.

The gravity of the situation sank in even deeper, and I couldn't help but curse my foolishness. If I got caught, Korn would undoubtedly ensure that my punishment was beyond brutal.

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing thoughts. The reality of the danger that surrounded us was becoming clearer with every passing second.

"Look, you're staying right here, end of the discussion," Vegas declared firmly, his voice filled with determination.

His words echoed in the room, leaving no room for argument.

"Yeah, I'm not risking my life out there," I replied, my voice tinged with a mix of fear and resignation.

The reality of the situation had sunk in, and the thought of venturing outside was simply too terrifying to consider.

"Why does Korn have to be like this? Can't he just... disappear?" I muttered, my gaze drifting towards the window.

The world outside seemed so distant and chaotic, a stark contrast to his confined safety

"He's not just going to vanish on his own. We'll have to take matters into our own hands. Will you help me with that?" Vegas asked, his eyes meeting mine.

I couldn't help but be drawn to his intense gaze, a mix of determination and hope.

"I'll be by your side, no matter what fucked-up things we have to do," I replied, my voice filled with fierce loyalty.

I could feel a sense of unity forming between us, a shared understanding of the darkness that lay ahead. And in that moment, a small smile crept onto Vegas' face, a glimmer of relief and gratitude.

"I'll go check on Macau," Vegas said, slipping on his shirt as he made his way toward the door.

The room suddenly felt emptier without him, and a heavy sigh escaped my lips. Everything felt so wrong, so uncertain.
