A few minutes after last chapter,

"We're getting close alright." Percy smirked, handling the reins of his flying chariot as they approached the coordinates Jake provided them with. Annabeth was there next to him, selecting a weapon from her own bead of necklaces. Percy looked back at her, watching her long blonde hair blowing in the breeze. She was always gorgeous, no matter when Percy saw her. To him, she was perfection itself. How could she not be? He looked at Aphrodite, and all he saw was an imitation of his wife. She noticed he was watching her, and smiled back.

"Like what you see, my dear husband?" She asked him. Percy smiled back.

"Liked it the first time I saw you, and I always will."

"Well, if you're all done being lovesick." Jason coughed, floating up next to their chariot. "What's the plan?" He asked, his sword unsheathed next to him. They both looked down, at the ship that was carrying the rest of the demigods. Even from here, Percy could see the middle finger Clarisse was throwing at him.

"Nico is going to start up the attack." Annabeth explained. "He's going to create an opening, that will be used by Clarisse, Austin, Sherman and the Stolls to rush in and start dismantling the robot. Meanwhile, we'll have Katie and I who will ensure the robot doesn't go for the ship or try to use that Hephaestus magic and then Jake will rush in to finish it off with a massive firebomb, and the robot is then served up as an offering to Hecate."

"What about Percy and I?" Jason asked. "I'm assuming you'll have us distract him."

"Correct." She answered. "Remember the stunt you two pulled when we fought in Cairo?"

"Oh." Percy's eyes widened in realization. "You want us to do that?"

"Yep." Annabeth replied, and soon enough, in the horizon they could see a towering monstrosity made of gold and bronze, hundreds of feet tall and making steps larger than entire city blocks. And he was fast too. Extremely so. He was gifted with enhanced speed, and with such a massive frame, it was understandable why the Cretans had been secure for so long.

Talos, a gift from Hephaestus to King Minos of Crete, who was a son of Zeus. It was truly a magnificent creation, and highly dangerous. The demigods of the future had taken a daunting task upon themselves, and the robot's steps shook the Earth to an extent that even in the sky, Annabeth could feel the very world shake beneath her. Annabeth raised up a flare into the air, and launched it, green smoke billowing in the air around her.

"Here it comes." Percy said, leaping off the chariot and floating in the air besides Jason. "Let the battle begin."

Talos' shadow began to swirl around in a whirlpool, catching the robot's attention. The humongous giant stopped, finally noticing the presence of the demigods. Annabeth took the chariot away, approaching their ship near the oceans. Meanwhile, Nico raised his hands, and a colossal roar reverberated around them. The robot looked down at his feet, as Ladon leapt out of the shadows, all of its head chomping and ready to bite as they landed on the robots body.

The dragon coiled around the robot's humongous leg, its claws digging in and its teeth and poison tearing away at the toughened body. The robot lifted its leg, trying to shake the dragon off, alas it never could. Ladon was fiercely latched in, and it had already begun corroding the bronze and gold that covered the robot's exterior. However, Ladon wasn't alone.

Out of the shadows followed an entire legion of the undead, latching on to the robot using their swords and climbing on top of him. They slashed and hacked at the robot, trying to create holes that the demigods could use to reach inside it. Hellhounds followed the legion of skeletons, and while some lost their grip and fell to their deaths, many of them regained their footing and continued the charge. The portal of shadows closed up, returning to how it originally was.
