Months went by after the princess's debut. During that time, there was a day when you and he shared a slow dance. You were feeling emotionally shattered at the time. In the aftermath, you both felt embarrassed and would avoid making eye contact with each other, though you were the one who seemed more flustered by it.
Meanwhile, Athanasia was confused about the weird tension between you two, wondering 'What happened to you guys!?'
Days have passed, and you find yourself unable to move on. Frustration consumes you, and you bury your face in your pillow, overwhelmed with the desire to suffocate yourself. "I still can't shake off that night!" you wail, even going as far as wishing for death.
"Why?" you sobbed, but the soft, down-filled pillow muffled your anguished cries, which couldn't be heard from outside the confines of your dimly lit bedroom. In a sudden fit of overwhelming frustration, you frantically kicked your legs like a distressed child, unable to contain the turbulent emotions completely consuming you.
"What's all the fuss about?" you yelped in surprise, the sudden voice beside you, causing you to jump and unceremoniously fall backward onto your plush, unmade bed. "L-Lucas! What the heck!" you exclaimed, thoroughly taken aback by his unexpected and silent presence in your bedroom. He raised a single, inquisitive eyebrow and then casually lay down on the bed beside you. "I actually thought you knew I was here all along," he remarked, a hint of amusement and bemusement detectable in his voice.
You huffed out an exasperated breath and embarrassingly looked away, unable to meet his amused gaze. "So are you going to tell me what's going on with you? Hm", he smirked, leaning his head nonchalantly on his hands as he looked down at your reclining figure. "It's none of your business," you retorted, "and by the way, what are you doing here?" With that, you abruptly stood up from the bed and repositioned yourself to sit down beside his casually lying form.
He clicked his tongue in a disapproving manner and dramatically rolled his eyes. "Just a moment ago you were crying your eyeballs out, and now you've gone back to normal. So weird and creepy-" he began, only to be cut off as you suddenly reached over and hit him hard on the top of his head. "Ouch!" he yelped, immediately bringing his hand up to rub the sore spot you had just struck.
"Says the one who creepily lay in my bed," you glare at him accusingly before rolling your eyes in exasperation. He grumbled under his breath about how your strike had actually hurt but nonetheless moved to sit down beside you on the bed. "I came here to tell you something," he started, shifting his position to face you more directly, "and I want you to go somewhere with me."
You blinked your eyes twice in bewilderment and then made a quizzical face. "What? Why me?" you wondered aloud, thinking to yourself, 'Shouldn't you be taking the princess instead of me? (゜ー゜)?'
Lucas heaved a deep, exasperated sigh, his patience visibly wearing thin. "Because I want to, alright?" he retorted dismissively. "You know what, I don't even care about your answer - let's just go," he declared.
"Wait, hold up-ack!!" you shrieked as Lucas suddenly grabbed you by the wrist, the abrupt motion causing you to feel dizzy. "Where did you even take me now? Urgh," you groaned.
He looked at you for a moment before reaching up to firmly grasp your face, squeezing your cheeks to force you to focus on the sight in front of you. "Outside the castle wall," he simply stated.
You blinked your eyes multiple times as you took in the scene in front of you. "Better thank me, I planned this out for the both of us..." Lucas began, only to slowly trail off as he noticed the sad smile that had crept across your face. Your eyes dropped down to focus on the ground, and you quietly asked, "You're going somewhere, aren't you?"
