Apparently Leo Miller had felt terrible about earlier ( his exact words ) and offered to take August to hang out somewhere after school.

She didn't refuse the offer, she needed to get her mind off things.

While sitting in a booth and talking about meaningless stuff that August didn't have much interest in, she spotted Jackie from across the room sitting with Alex and Kiley, seeing that she was still confused after she had heard about the whole Paige situation earlier. For reassurance, August sent a smile her way which she received and sent another one back.

Though she painfully watched as Cole walked in, visibly agitated by the two before joining them.

August had failed to save some pity for herself however because the presence of Isaac Garcia and Emily Campbell had became known last minute after August had spared all her sympathy to Jackie, now wishing she hadn't when Isaac caught her eye.

Shoot her right now.

"Oh my god." August uttered out unknowingly causing Leo to follow her stare and see the pair walking over towards the two.

When they reached the table August was the first to grin while she looked up at them, attempting to ease the tense atmosphere when Leo seemed to have glared at their existence.

They were holding hands.

August had to stop herself from showing any sign of envy that had taken over her being when she spotted that fact, only suppressing her frown that so badly wanted to be exposed due to the slight drop she felt in her heart when she spoke. "What's up?"

"Just wanted to join you guys." Isaac claimed, taking a seat in front of them while consistently keeping his palm on hers, hers as in Emily's. "If that's okay with Leo over here?"

It was like Isaac was like he was trying to ruin August's life.

"We were actually about to leave." August sighed, turning towards the boy beside her who had also taken her hand at the sight of him.

The only reason why she held his hand back was because Isaac was right there.

Though Isaac was much more horrible at hiding the anguish that it brought him than she was, not that August had even noticed, she refused to look their way because she really didn't want to see whatever state Emily and him were in at this given moment, so with that, she kept her stare on Leo as she waited for him to respond.
