August Thompson survived lunch detention!

        Well, barely.

Once Emily and Jackson had came back it was mostly silent in the room except for the occasional remarks that were made from them, one that Isaac and August had barely even acknowledge because they were in no mood to listen.

Then for the majority of the day, August had heard just about everyone talking about the incident with her and Paige, and let's just say, none of it was good for either of them.

It was why August was so eager to leave. Counting down the minutes in which she could just run out into the parking lot, jump in her car, and drive as far away as possible from the building as she could.

And the time did come, but she her plans were interrupted.

"August!"

August would've been annoyed that someone was stopping her in leaving her own personal hell but considering she recognized the voice, she wasn't as mad as she would be.

Instead August turned around and was immediately met with Alex who looked incredibly out of breath as if he had been chasing her all around the world and barely caught her in time. The sight only caused her to squint her eyes at him, "What the hell happened to you?"

"I ran." Alex panted, "Around the whole school."

"Why?" August quizzed as she resisted the urge to laugh.

"Because I was trying to find you." He tried to explain through his heavy breaths.

       August finally chuckled faintly. "Why?"

       "Is this amusing to you?"

He was starting to catch his breath when he saw the girl in front of him nod with certainty, "Very."

"Well." Alex began as he sucked in a breath of air that he seemed to have been missing. "I wanted to apologize to you."

August furrowed her eyebrows as she asked the same question, "Why?"

"Because I was being an asshole that day in the auditorium and I got you in trouble." Alex clarified as if it was obvious.
