Shadow POV:

I walk down the corridors carefully. I make sure my steps are just barely audible while I turn on the safety on my gun. I can't let a stray bullet give away my location. The place is like a large maze with tons of twists and turns that could easily leave me vulnerable to a surprise attack.

The elevator took me through a large area of pure wiring that helps route power throughout the entire space station. I've been roaming around, quietly taking out any robots that are standing idly. Down here, the walls are dark grey with the floors a jet-black kind of color. Large red, blue, and yellow wires the size of typical humans are spread throughout the floor and walls. Long skinny red lights are spread around the tops of the walls, leading the way toward the core.

Once I get through the maze, dismantling a couple more robots, I can see the room that holds the core come into view. The entrance to it is blasted down, with the large black doors lying in shambles on the floor. I hide in the corner of the wiring room, poking my head out gently as I study the room to see what's in it.

I see two robots escorting someone upstairs. My face grimaces as I recognize the red suit on a human man.

Dr. Eggman is a tall person, roughly 6 feet. His head is rather small and round, despite the genius of a brain he has to create his robotic creations. He has a large chest that makes him look overweight, but surprisingly he does seem to have muscle in that area. His legs are skinny and long. He's wearing a red long-sleeved flight suit jacket with yellow buttons. Black aerodynamic pants and black and white shoes complete his suit. On his head are flight goggles while over his eyes seem to be some kind of blue glass sunglasses.

The room he's in is a wide room with multiple floors of stairs leading up toward a large white ball of fire. That is the core, the thing that powers the space station and allows everyone on board to stay alive. The walls are white with various colored wiring that's connected to the core spread across, connecting to the wiring in the next room. The floors are a white color with the Acorn crest in the center of it. The crest is colored green with swirly golden patterns around it. The red lights from the other room continue into this one.

I see that Eggman is carrying the Master Emerald in his arms, a large green emerald the size of a small mini car. The obedient robots behind him are carrying the chaos emeralds.

Shock lines my face as I force myself to keep my composure. I can only imagine the state of Mobotropilus now, with the destruction this man caused for that damn thing. Angel Island can't float in the sky without it. It must have fallen onto the city.

These robots are different from the ones that I was dealing with before. These are colored silver with black casings around their arms, shoulders, and feet. They aren't large and round like the red ones. These are more human-shaped, with a smaller body and extended limbs. The small head has no mouth, only a small white glowing line that appears to function like eyes.

"Soon, the Earth will be destroyed and I will create a new one. A better one. One that will obey my every command. That will respect me. That will pay attention to me!" Dr. Eggman lets out a hysterical hyena-like laugh that always irritated me. "This time, not even that blue hedgehog can stop me."

"Yeah...I don't know about that..." A familiar voice whispers into my ear.

I jump slightly and turn quickly. Sonic is standing there with his arms crossed, looking up at Dr. Eggamn climbing those stairs. He's wearing a white shirt with a blue zip-up hoodie that's closed up to his chest area. Sonic's red shorts extend to his knees, matching his normal red shoes with a white stripe in the center. His blue quills are tied up like a ponytail while his face seems to be scanning the area.
