Cecilia

December 4, 1945

Easton and I talk stay on the phone for about half an hour. Just giggling and telling jokes. Before Elodie comes upstairs.

"Oh, one minutes Easton, I've got to speak to someone."

"Of course! I'll be on the line, waiting for you."He says, this brings a little smirk on my face. I see Elodie standing there, tapping her foot.

"Yes?" I ask as she watched me.

"I was just going to ask when you'd be done. Loraline is asking for you. I think she misses you. I mean, I don't blame her." She says with a chuckle. "I do too." She admits.

"Oh, I apologise. I'll be just a minute." I say, not realising it's been so long. I see Elodie nod and look at the floor.

"Of course." She says, slower than usual. She turns away and walks down the steps. I talk to him for about 5 minutes longer before I finally decide to let him go.

"Easton, I should go now, it looks like there are people dear to me, waiting for my appearance, and you know how that goes. Goodbye now." I say.

"Oh, uh, goodbye then." He says just before I hang up. I see Elodie on the couch talking with Loraline.

"You didn't have to hang up." She tells me. I just walk down stairs.

"Cecilia, sit by me! I got a question I want to ask you." She say. I head to the sofa and sit.

"Ask away, darling." I say with a smile.

"Do you like Momma?" She asks bluntly. I look back to Elodie's help but I see her in the kitchen, attending to the dirty dishes.

"Well, I, you see-" I don't know what to say...

"I know my Momma likes girls. She was with Aunt Lilly." She admits. Who is Aunt Lilly? Hm... "Momma told me herself but- but you can't tell anyone. That's what momma also told me." She says.

"You know, you're an intelligent little girl. But to answer your question... yes, I guess I do have feeling for your mother in a way." I confess. She begins to smile. She gives me a big hug and even wraps her legs around me.

"Call me Lorrie. Can I call you Cici?" She ask. I laugh and kiss her head.

"Of course you can, my love." I tell her. That is when Elodie walks in.

"Alright, bedtime. For the both of you." She glares.

"I'm not a baby!" Loraline shouts.

"And nor am I!" I add. Elodie rolls her eyes and smacks her lips.

"But you're a child." She stares at Loraline. "And you're a fresh adult." She claims.

"I'm a twenty-six." I demand. Elodie scoffs.

"You're still a fresh adult in my eyes. Goodness, you sound ridiculous." She says. I hear Loraline laugh. I turn around and begin to tickle her.

"And what exactly are you laughing at?" I ask. She can barley speak.

"You a-and Momma!" She says, still laughing. Elodie gets a bit of a chuckle in herself before demanding sleep to the both of us.

"Alright ladies, head to bed. Momma will be downstairs working, alright?" Elodie nods.

"But Momma, I didn't get my bath." She says with a pout but begins to cough.

"You'll get one tomorrow, sweetheart. Until then, you better be asleep. Now get upstairs and change." She says. "The both of you upstairs, now." She adds as she eyes me. I roll my eyes. Loraline heads upstairs she I follow behind her. Since I'm already changed, I just lie down, staring up at the ceiling.
