Elodie

"Where is your husband?" He asks me. I simply chuckle and shake my head.
"Excuse me?" I ask, shocked by his straightforward question.
"I'm sorry. Was that question rude or an invasion in privacy?"
"No. Not in the slightest." I smile, trying to play it off. "Currently my husband is on a trip. Why do you ask?"
"I was just curious since you said he wasn't in the room with you."
"Are you here to talk with Cecilia or me?" I ask getting up and walking behind him, fixing his collar to make it look fuller. My head is nearly lying on his shoulder. I notice Cecilia glaring while he looks at me with passionate eyes and a sincere smile is plastered on his face.
"Don't mess up, alright? Treat her well or I'll mess you up." I whisper in his ear with a laugh. I place a kiss on his cheek and I notice my lipstick traveled to his face, again.
"Oh my. I apologize would you like me to get that off?" I smile, already knowing the answer to this question as I walk away to the kitchen.
"No, it's fine, no need for that apology."
Cecilia
December 8 1945
Once Elodie kisses him I feel my blood boil. I would advise him to take a powder but I'm a civil person. I take a deep breath.
I glower at Elodie and she smiles at me tauntingly as she walks to her kitchen.
"So hold on a second. I'm terribly confused. Who are you, sir?" Irene asks him.
"Excuse my manners, I'm Easton." He says, standing up and holding his hand out to shake her.
"Oh! I've heard about you before. I'm Irene." She shakes his hand.
"You talk about me, Cecilia? That's a pleasant surprise."
"I wouldn't say that." I say under my breath. When he sits back down, Elodie is on her way back.
"I've just put the kettle on and you're invited to say for dinner if you'd like." She offers which sort of angers me although it probably shouldn't have.
"Oh, of course I'll stay."
"Cici. Is this your husband?" Lorrie asks me with sort of an upside down smile.
"Loraline." Elodie says sternly, looking her in her eyes.
"No, it's fine! Well- I mean-"
"Hopefully soon." Easton says with a wink. I awkwardly chuckle and Lorrie gasps.
"Aren't you a straight forward one, hm?" Elodie asks, crossing her legs and looking him up and down.
"Not completely." He says, not looking at her chest and slowly moving up to her eyes.
"I see." Elodie says with a chuckle just before the kettle starts whistling. "If you'll excuse me, I'll prepare the tea." She announces as she gets up.
Irene, Lillian and Loraline sit on the other sofa, talking about whatever. Soon Elodie comes back with a tray, cups, sugar, milk, a tea pot, and something else I can't get a good look at.
"Alright, I've scones and tea." She says while placing it all down on her table.
"Thank you." Easton says as she pours him a cup.
"I'll get started on dinner." Irene announces.
"I'm sorry! I'll get to that." Elodie quickly gets up. I watch as her hair flows loosely before she pushed it behind her ear. Easton look at her, mesmerized. I can't blame him because I am too.
