-Selene's POV-

I floating on several layers of clouds as I thought back to our date. Juno had looked so cute even when she had been reserved at some points of our dinner. My wolf whined at the thought of our mate in distress her claws raking over my mind in a demand to be let out. Pushing her back into my mind I tried to focus on my job, no doubt she had hers to focus on right now. I itched to be near her though the pull towards her almost impossible to ignore. Shaking my head I pushed through it, we'd see each other again soon there was no doubt about that. Taking another deep breath I flipped the sign on my office door to open. Walking back to my desk I got on with some reports while I waited for the first student.

My writings were mostly on Colette and Coby, and Lux the Leopon. As well as a few other students who had come to me with problems, ranging from romantic trouble, to exam stress. Lux seemed to have the most pressing issue with them questioning their identity. I bristled when principle Nita entered without knocking, my wolf's instinctive fear of a larger predator nearly taking over.

"Selene my friend, how does this fine day treat you" the principle greeted warmly as she took a seat opposite me.

With her sitting down I felt less threatened and my wolf let her hackles drop. Realistically my wolf knew Nita wasn't a threat but instincts were always hard to overcome.

"Very well, wonderful even" I responded, a grin taking over my face as I remembered meeting Juno and then our wonderful dinner together.

"I suppose congratulations are in order, to both you and Juno" Nita beamed, joy written over all of her features.

"Thank you" I stuttered, stunned she cared so much.

"When one finds their mate, it is always such a joyous occasion, we'll have to celebrate over drinks properly with the rest of the staff soon" Nita exclaimed eyes sparkling with untold mischief that set both my wolf and I on edge again.

"I'd love to celebrate with all of you but Juno and I need more time to figure each other out first" I spoke nervously rubbing the back of my head.

We were still new to each other and I wanted to take things slowly, and shower Juno in all the love she deserves.

"Of course, it doesn't have to be today, what do you say to two weeks from now, I'll make it a staff event" Nita announced easily, easing my worries and creating more at the same time.

A crash and a strained growl interrupted any further conversation Nita might have had for me. Both myself and Nita shot to our feet diving out of the door to see what the commotion was about. I raced down the halls hot on Nita's heels as she took the fastest route to the incident. Any students and teachers in the halls gave the grolar bear a wide berth as she charged. It made my wolf feel better that she wasn't the only one who feared the bear.

"Miss Juno, please help" I heard a student say before we rounded the last corner.

Magic fizzled in the air as Juno stepped forward hands outstretched. Hands glowing with fairy magic, sparkling as translucent wings spread from her back. Four of them. She was breath taking as she began to concentrate on her spell. Chains of pink light leapt from the ground, snaking around the fighting students. The magic coiled around their forms, collaring a wolf and shackling a cat shifter. Looing closer at the werecat I saw rosettes, the tip of a lions tail and the beginnings of a lions mane. Lux, the Leopon. The wolf hybrid I haven't met yet. The snarling animals stilled their eyes widening in fear as the magic cut into their fur. The crowd of students gathered around the two fighting weren't spared. The magic chains wrapped around their ankles preventing them from running as a very angry grolar bear approached.

"What's going here" Nita growled, her words loud and booming and all bear.

I had to keep my spine straight in order to keep my wolf from cowering. Remembering my fathers lessons in situations like this.

"They just started fighting, we have no idea" One student managed to speak up through his trembling.

"Lie" I hissed, the scent of it like acid in the back of my nose.

"Anyone else" Nita asked, this time her tone deadly quiet.

"Lux went crazy he started it, Jeremy was only defending himself" Another student spoke up this one a witch hybrid.

Lux snarled at the witch at this, struggling in their binds as they tried to snap their jaws towards her.

"Another Lie" I stated, looking to the principle for permission, she nodded in my direction and I let my gift loose.

Relaxation pheromones forcing calm among the students. Radiating pheromones until I got to the one that made lying impossible.

"I will ask one last time before everyone gathered gets detention for the next month" Nita started her eyes hopping from one student to the next. "What happened here"

I watched several students open and close their mouths as the tried to lie but my pheromones prevented it until another boy sighed and spoke the truth.

"Jeremy was misgendering Lux a lot and teasing them, I think their animal took over in their distress and attacked the person causing their human pain, and Jeremy shifted to defend himself"

"Was that so hard" Nita tsked at the other students.

"Selene dear can you make these two shift, and then Juno if you'd be able to drop the magic that would be great" Nita ordered as she stood straight, menacing even.

Without wasting time for words I focused all my pheromones on Lux and Jeremy, forcing the adrenaline out of their systems and replacing it with dopamine. Each of them falling out of their shifted forms in heaps on the ground. Blankets being tossed over them quickly as they shivered from the forced shift. Looking across the hall at Juno as she dropped her magic, the light chains disappearing slowly in what looked like pixie dust. Once the large scale magic wasn't being harnessed Juno's wings disappeared and her chest rose and fell with the effort of maintaining the spell. My legs carried me to her before I realised what I was doing.

"You were brilliant" I whispered into her ear as I pulled her into my chest.

"As were you" She sighed, not quite exhausted but I knew she'd need a rest for a little while.

"Selene, take Juno to your office for the rest of the morning, Juno you are to resume teaching this afternoon, and You two come to my office" Nita spoke in a quick breath as she grabbed the two fighting students and dragged them along with her.

Nodding, I lifted Juno into my arms much to her protest and began carrying her to my office.
