Steve was practically falling asleep at his desk. It had been a quiet day and the cheap coffee wasn't helping him. "Rough night?" He was shaken more awake by Clint who had a gleam in his eyes. "You have no idea..."
Steve smiled as he turned over in his bed and saw the most glorious sight. He finally had his girl and he wouldn't let her go. Kissing her bare shoulder, he checked the time on his nightstand and gave a groan. "Fuck."
"It's too early."
Steve rolled back over and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her against his chest. "Leave me alone, you dork." Steve chuckled and buried his face in her messy hair. "We have to get up, pretty girl." She glanced at the clock and made a face. "No, you have to get up. I still have a day off today."
After Bucky showed up at the bar, of course he had to leave unexpectedly. Something about getting a call and needing to take care of it. Steve didn't care, it was all the more reason to bring Dublin home.
Home.
That's what she was. She was home. And he would do anything to keep her here in his arms. He definitely wasn't letting her go.
"Oh yeah?" He rolled her over and leaned over her, caging her against the mattress with his strong arms. "And what, pray tell, are you doing with your day off?" She gave a contented sigh as he leaned down and started kissing her neck.
"Planning on talking to Bucky."
He stopped his movements and leaded up to look at her. "You are?" Had he heard that right? "It's what's right. I love you and want to be with only you. Steve, it's not fair to keep this from him. And I have to be the one to tell-" He cut her off with a searing kiss.
"I love you." It was whispered against her lips, but she smiled at hearing those words. "I love you. Now, get off me. I need more sleep." He chuckled and let her roll back on her stomach, getting out of bed to get dressed. "What should we do to celebrate."
"Anything. Nothing. I'm too sleepy to think right now." He started buttoning his shirt as he looked at her. "What about May and Peter." He chuckled as she practically shot out of bed. "And now I'm officially up." She grabbed his white cable knit sweater and wrapped herself in its warmth. "I have to talk to Bucky first." She turned around saw him in his suit and tie. "But you are giving me a very good reason to want to keep you here." She grabbed his tie and pulled him into a kiss. Placing his hands on her hips, he deepened it and then pulled away. "Yet, I still have to go to work."
Pulling away her grabbed his coat and gave her one last lingering kiss. To which she deepened. "Then go." It was taking everything not to take her right there and then against the wall of his bedroom. "I'm going." She smiled against his lips and simply nodded her head. "Okay."
But he knew he was a goner. "I can be late." She laughed as he grabbed around her thighs and wrapped her legs around his waist.
Steve leaned up and looked at his partner. "I just didn't get a lot of sleep last night." Clint, on the other hand, just laughed. "You're a terrible liar, you know. With her again, were you?"
Steve almost choked on his now cold coffee. How many more people knew?! "What?" Clint chuckled and sat on the side of Steve's desk. "Man, I keep saying that if you don't stop with Sharon..."
"Sharon?" What? "You think I was with Sharon?" Was he trying to play dumb? "Why would I ever want to be with her?" Clint just pointed behind me. "Because she's incoming." Looking over his shoulder, Steve saw the blonde walking over with conviction. "We have to talk."
