'Smells good ma' Saffy said wandering into the kitchen and taking a seat at one of the bar stools.

'Thank you baby' She said smiling.

'What about us?' Harry and Finn whined as they peeled potatoes and kneaded the dough for the chapati.

'You boys are doing so good' she smiled before winking at Saffron.

They exchanged a giggle before Saffron's mum returned to stirring the onion and garlic on the stove.

'Is there anything you guys want to do while you're here?' Saffron asked grabbing a handful of grapes from the fruit bowel on the bench.

'I just want to spend time with you' Saffron's mum said smiling at her.

'Oh Harry, Finn, Max said he was keen to take you guys out to some bars around Monaco. That okay with you guys?' Saffron asked picking another grape and popping it in her mouth.

'Hell yeah' Finn said pounding the dough.

'Aye' Saffrons mum said flicking Finn on the shoulder.

Harry laughed pushing him as he continued on.

'Where's dad?' Saffron asked turning and looking around.

'On the deck just taking in nature I guess?' Harry said shrugging.

'Interesting' Saffron said as she saw Max also out on the deck with him. He looked awkward like he was trying his best to make conversation.

Saffrons mum turned the heat down and began cooking the meat. The dough was resting on the bench ready to be cooked and Harry had finished the potatoes and sliced them also ready to be cooked. Saffrons mum then wandered outside to speak to Max and Saffron's Dad.

Saffron cleared her throat 'guys' she said and the boys turned around in their places 'so it turns out Carlos is coming to the baby shower this weekend' she said trailing off looking down at the bench.

'What?!' Finn said throwing the tea towel on the bench.

'Please please be nice' she begged.

'Why the fuck is he coming?'

'Because I said he could come okay. Look I know what he did to me was horrible but-' Saffron said before being cut off by Harry.

'But nothing Saffron. Finn and I agreed that when we saw him we would beat the shit out of him for what he had done'

'Well you're not going to do that now. Please' she begged 'just play nice' she said.

They rolled their eyes sighing 'we can try but no promises' they said before wandering off.

Saffron sighed.

'Saffron let me see baby's room. I brought so much stuff for you come on' Saffrons Mum said as she wandered in from outside.

'Okay' she said smiling trying not to soak in the disappointment of her brothers.

'So this is baby's room' Saffron said wandering into the newly furnished nursery.

'Oh Saf' She said covering her mouth with her hand 'it's so lovely' she said putting her hands on her chest 'look at this' she said holding up a newborn onsie sitting on the cot.

'I know I know. We just bought a huge stack of clothes that I need to put away' she said laughing.

'Well you're going to have to more. Let me get my suitcase' she said before running off down the hall.

She returned with a large suitcase and opened it up revealing an abundance of toys and clothes. Saffron immediately teared up at the sight and hugged her mother rummaging through the suitcase. They sat on the floor folding the little tiny clothes and tucking them away into the drawers ready for the new born that would soon be gracing this room.

As they chat away folding clothes Max wandered down the hall 'on there you are' he said smiling 'what do we have here?' He asked beaming down at the clothes.

'Mum brought us a bunch of stuff for baby isn't this cute?' She said holding up a little formula one onsie.

'It is very sweet' he said smiling leaning against the door.

'Are you alright darling?' Saffron asked as a concerned look graced her face.

'Yeah of course my love' he said.

Not believing him she pushed herself up off the ground and excused herself dragging Max into the master bedroom.

'Are you sure you're okay?' She asked.

'Does your family like me?' He asked in a desperate whisper.

'Oh Maxy' She said laughing placing a hand on his face 'of course they do. Remember this is like the second time they've met you' she said laughing.

'I know I know but I just don't know what to talk about or do. Your dad is really quiet and the boys well I don't even know' he said shrugging.

'Why don't you show them the Sim and your PlayStation and stuff. You can play some games before dinner' she said squeezing his bicep.

'Okay' he said nodding before wandering off.

She smiled watching the hopeless man wander off down the hall to her brothers. She wandered back into baby's room and found her mum re-arranging some of the toys that were about.

'Do you have everything?' She asked rummaging through the drawers.

'No but we are hoping we get some stuff this weekend after the baby shower. Anything we don't get we will then go and buy the week after' She said rubbing her belly.

'And what about names? Do you have any names?' She asked still packing things away.

'Max really wants a Dutch name. So far we have Cas, Espen, Ruben. They're the Dutch names' she said laughing 'on the other hand I really like the names Theo and Cedric' She said smiling.

'What about your father's name?' She asked frowning.

'Mum we can't name him after Dad. Then Max's dad will get annoyed'

'But it's your dad'

'Mum' Saffron said frowning 'I am sorry but it is absolutely not happening' she said putting a hand up.

'MUM' Harry yelled from the kitchen.

She sighed rolling her eyes before leaving.

Saffy smiled and put the last of the baby photos away. Max had returned to the door disturbing her peace 'isn't this cute' he said looking at the little shoes and socks laid out on the cot.

'I know' Saffron said smiling and looking down at her belly 'soon' she said placing a hand and rubbing it over the little kicks.

Max bent down so that he was directly in front of her belly. He tapped it softly 'hello?' He asked smiling looking up at Saffron.

'Zonnestraal?' He asked before placing his large warm hand on her belly 'it's your papa here' he said. He waited a moment before feeling a strong quick.

'Oh my' Saffron said giggling putting a hand over her mouth.

'You're about to have a taste of your culture today. Your daadee is making papa's favourite curry tonight so make sure you eat it all. I don't want to hear mamma spewing it all up just like you did with papa's cooking' he said frowning.

The kicks intensified and Max smiled at the response.

'To be fair Maxy that pasta you made wasn't your finest cooking' Saffron said smiling tilting her head to the side.

'I know' he said frowning 'I'm blaming it on the pasta maker' he said shrugging.

'Anything to take the blame' Saffron said rolling her eyes laughing.
