Saffron sat in the window of a small coffee shop, baby Cedric snoozing away in the pram whilst she sipped on her chai and read her book. She was currently engrossed in her book, the plot was getting thicker by the minute as she was about to get to the juicy part she was startled by a familiar voice.
'Hola' a soft Spanish accent called out.
Spooked by his words she jumped slightly 'oh' she said composing herself 'hola' she said to Carlos smiling.
'Mind if I sit?' He asked 'I come in peace' he said putting his hands up.
She looked at him for a moment weighing it up in her head before agreeing and nodded her head. She put her bookmark in her book and put it away in her bag under the pram before checking on Cedric.
'Hey uh' she said looking over to Carlos 'I'm sorry about the other week when I was rude to you' she said frowning.
'It's okay' he said chuckling.
'Thanks for being cool about it' she said rubbing her arms with her hands.
He smiled 'so. How are you going?' He asked.
'I'm good. I'm good. Just doing my own thing' Saffron said smiling.
'That's good' he said sipping on his coffee.
'How are you?' She asked.
'I'm good I uh I actually have started to see someone' he said smiling.
'Wow' she said smiling 'that's great' she said taking a sip of her tea 'tell me about her'.
'She's really great. Her name is Vivian, I met her a couple weeks ago at one of the race weekends' he said nodding.
'That's really great Carlos I'm really happy for you' she said smiling.
'Yeah' he said.
'So what is she like?' Safron intrigued.
'She's cute, funny, she's in University at the moment studying to be an architect which is cool. She does modelling on the side' he nodded smiling.
'Wow. Sounds like you bagged yourself a hell of a woman. Attractive and smart. Why's she with you?' Saffron joked letting a small smile and giggle grace her.
Carlos smiled his signature smile shaking his head 'I have no idea. I must be a real catch?' He said shrugging.
Saffron laughed and then looked back at him. Silence fell upon the duo.
'Are you excited for the last race of the season?' She asked.
He nodded 'I guess so. This last race will really seal everyone's places. Except for Max of course' he chuckled.
She smiled 'yes. But exciting for you coming third' she said.
'Are you going to attend the last race?' He asked.
She shook her head 'no unfortunately' she said looking over at baby Cedric 'I don't feel super comfortable travelling to another country with him just yet' she said nodding her head.
'Fair enough but it will be a shame' he said frowning.
She shrugged 'it is what it is' she chuckled 'plus I was there when he basically won the championship so' she said shrugging 'and I'll be at the FIA ceremony' she smiled.
They sat in silence for a moment before picking up another conversation. They chatted for around two hours before Saffron checked her phone and realised Max had been texting when she was going to be home. She said goodbye to Carlos and wandered back home with baby Cedric.
As she approached the house, Max had been sitting in the window reading his book and saw Saffron approaching. He quickly scrambled to open the door and greet the pair. He smiled embracing her in a tight hug before grabbing Ced out of his pram and throwing him up in the air earning a small giggle from the baby.
'How was your afternoon?' He asked watching her put the pram and baby bag away following her around the house as she got into some comfortable clothes.
'Good good. I had coffee with Carlos' she said wandering into the kitchen to grab a snack.
'Oh?' Max said.
'Yeah he was telling me about the new girl he's seeing' she said grabbing a plate and some fruit to cut up.
'Oh yeah? What's her name?' He asked pulling out his phone.
'Vivian. Don't know her last name but presumably they follow each other on Instagram' she said smirking at him opening his socials.
Max did a quick search with Saffron's assistance and they stalked the profile of Carlos's new boo. Max clicked on a photo and his eyes widened.
'What is it?' Safron asked biting her apple.
'Are you joking?' Max asked.
She shook her head confused.
She looked exactly like Saffron. Black hair, brown eyes, tanned skin even the same fashion sense. She was taller and slimmer but certainly not better by any means. Max wasn't really sure how to feel. He just stared at the photo of the model.
'Nothing' Max said quietly with a frown.
'What is it?' She asked.
'She just looks really familiar' He said before immediately texting Daniel who came to the same conclusion.
'Huh' Saffron said shrugging before wandering off to get Ced's bath ready.
Once Cedric was bathed, fed and put to bed, saffron and Max could finally enjoy their night together. Max had been lovely enough to make Saffron a pasta dish that Charles had shown him that he knew she would love and boy did she ever. So much so she had two and half servings before calling it quits. They cleaned up the kitchen and sat down for a movie cuddling into each other enjoying each others company.

'Don't you think it's a bit weird?' Max asked Charles as the two stalked Carlos's new girlfriend's Instagram page.
Charles carefully assessed the photos before screwing up his face 'yeah you're not wrong. Especially here. I can really see it's he said zooming in on one of the models pictures.
'Yeah it creeped me out when I saw it' Max said.
'Did you show Saff?' Charles asked.
Max nodded 'yeah but she didn't seem to make the connection' Max said frowning.
'Really?' Charles asked.
Max nodded.
'Really what?' Lewis asked coming up behind Charles 'oh' he said as his face dropped looking at Max's phone 'Carlos's new girlfriend huh?' He asked.
Max and Charles nodded.
'She's in the Ferrari garage at the moment. I said hello to her when she was in the paddock. Thought it was Saffron on first glance' he said shaking his head.
'Yes' Max said 'that's exactly what I said to Charles!'
'Does Saff know?' Lewis asked.
'Yeah she was the one who told me. Apparently Carlos bumped into her at her favourite cafe whilst she was reading her book. They chatted for two hours she said' Max said.
'Wow' Lewis said.
'I know' Max said.
'Did you say anything about it?' Lewis asked.
Max shook his head 'no but I'll be saying something to him later' Max said as an annoyed look took over his face.
'Make sure you do it before the race so I can win yeah?' Lewis asked cheekily.
Max laughed before the group dispersed and he headed back to his drivers room. He got ready for qualifying as usual. He checked his phone and got a lovely message from her and Cedric wishing him luck. He smiled down at it knowing that he was lucky to have them. Carlos was just jealous.
