They were all in school grounds ready to take their first exam and funny enough it was a writing exam which Maeve finished  five minutes before boruto which ofcourse he got angry about but who cares

Now they were gathered in a forest and the real exam was given
" you have to break this bullseyes on iur chest to eliminate us but if we take those white headbands of yours you are out as well" says shino sensei
" so who's the protector "
"I am" says kakashi coming out of the woods
" dad , ofcourse " says Maeve
"If you want to win you have to take these bells from me before the timer runs out " he says
"There's no need for the timer I'll settle this right now" says boruto attacking kakashi
"Good grief  like father like son , it's not easy boruto you can ask Maeve if you don't believe me" he says and dissappears
"Maeve Whats on your mind " askes denki
"Well we might as well go home now that test is impossible " she says
"HUHHHHH" says the whole class
" I'm kidding , let's try to finish the senseis first and then see what to do about him" they go to do that but all of a sudden they realize boruto isn't there

Maeve pov:
When boruto made those clones to attack my dad was the perfect time for me to start my plan
I used my water jutsu to turn my real body into water and hide underground while making a water clone to replace me and when dad left ii the forest I followed him

He was now resting in a tall the where he could see everything from and guess what I was right behind him in my water form inside of the tree but he didn't know that
Now I had to find a way to get those bells but with this place being this quiet it's almost impossible
I need to make some noise
I made my water clone separate from the group and went in the other side of the forest opposite from my dad and...

Boom
A loud noise is heard as a tree falls meanwhile Maeve reaches her hand just as the tree is almost on  the ground and gets the bells while replacing then with a leaf

After the noise boruto finds my dad and fights him like an idiot and then mitsuki saves him and they try to figure out a plan
" wait where is Maeve " asks shikadai
"I'm right here I say behind him having just come out of the tree and released my water jutsu

They try to fight kakashi
They do the sealing jutsu
The fact that they worked together as a team made them pass the exam
"So as you see getting the bells was never the point after all no one is ever going to be able to take them from me " he says when he hears the bells ring but not on his belt

But on maeves hand
" Huh but when...." 
At that moment Maeve goes near a tre and puts her hand in it and her body turns into water and goes inside the tree

Don't get scared this is suigetsus body turned into water and it's kinda the same how maeves looks after she is using it

"When boruto made his shadow clones I used my jutsu and then left a waterclone here meanwhile I followed you talk that big tree
I needed a distraction for you so that's why I made my clone punch a tree ad make that noise while I reached and got the bells " I explained "you really thought you knew all my jutsus didn't you father?"
"Well good job I'm proud of you Maeve " he says rubbing her head
"And now your all genin , goodluck"
