Chapter 8

Sean pulled up at the store and we got out.

" What are we doing here " I asked walking next to him .

" for our picnic "

" Oh it's a picnic now ? How romantic of you Sean "

FUCK , why'd I say that ,why'd I say that .

" well , if you want it to be it could be a date " I could hear his words turn into a grin.

AAAAAAH ! WHY IS HE SO FINE.

" that would work " i grinned back trying not to leap into his arms at that moment.

He got some snacks and held the basket . He was insisting I get whatever I want but I stayed humble even though if it were Nick I was shopping with I'll be getting everything . He payed for it and carried it to the car. I made conversation about him being made captain and he was asking me about my time as an officer. We finally pulled up in this parking lot . We parked in front of a view , it was the beach. I try to grab the groceries while he gets the blanket in the back but he took it out of my hands .

" That wouldn't be very romantic of me if I made you hold everything " ugh , gentleman.

He layed it out and then he set the food out . We chatted about anything and everything . I told him an embarrassing story about Nick when we were little .

" We called him Puddles because he wet the bed and blamed it on the dog "

Sean burst out laughing . I started laughing but knew I was fucked if Nick found out .

We talked for hours and now he was sprawled on his back laughing at my stories and I was laying on my stomach next to him with my legs kicking in the air like a teenager in love , that's what it felt like except he was far from being a teenager and I stopped being one a few years ago . Das crazy . Anyways. I insisted we watch the sunset and he agreed .

" I mean I have nowhere to be , but if I bring you home too late Nicks gonna kill me "

" As if I'll let him " I giggle

" Wow , you'll save me "

" Of course I will"

" I'm holding you against that " he jokes .

But he was right . If anything happened to me Nick would kill him.

We stayed silent for the 5 minutes the sunset was taking then he made me sit in the car while he packed everything up .We were almost there and i decided to discuss the question everyone was asking . I mean what am I scared of , he wouldn't have done all this unless it meant anything .

"So captain , why did you wanna take me out on a  fine evening like this "

I didn't wanna sound so much like a fucking loser but I had a feeling I was giving off some childish vibes with my time at the precinct. It went silent for a second and I was immediately regretting my decision. He sighed .

" Don't take this as unprofessional, but The moment you stepped in the precinct I wanted to get to know you better y/n . " He sounded a bit hesitant but I just wanted him to spit it out . This time I was sure .

" Sir , I don't think you're telling me how you're actually feeling . " I teased him a little . I'd definitely regret this in the morning . He leaned forward .

" Y/n -"

" Just say it , Sean."

" I like you y/n . Alot . "

I sat there in shock . I felt the exact same way but I didn't know how to say it .

" Sean . I like you too "
