Chapter 16

*DRUG USE WARNING*

" Monroe are you sure this is the guy." Nick asked with an angry tone.

" Yes he is , how do you know him." He said while looking at me, his worried expression growing even deeper.

I could feel my eyes starting to sting.

" Our captain and , Y/n's Boyfriend." Nick says trailing off at the end of boyfriend.

Monroe sighs while closing his eyes.

" Fuck y/n I am so sorry. " He steps closer and touches my elbow. I didn't know what to do . My eyes were watering yet nothing could come out. I stood still for a while then slumped on the couch and broke down. Monroe sat down on the couch and pulled me into a hug while Nick paced around. I let it all out like I did when he was ignoring me , now I know why. Unexpected feelings for Juliette. No wonder it was so hard for him to admit.

I was gripping Monroe's shirt and couldn't stop crying. Again. I thought Sean was different. After 15 minutes , I stopped and looked up. Monroe was looking at me and I turned to Nick , who was now sitting on the couch with his head in his hands. He looks up and walks over to me pulling me into yet another hug. Not only were we both being cheated on , it was with each others partners.

I wanted to escape reality right then and there . I wanted to be alone. But I had to look after my brother too . After a little while , I got up.

" I'm tired." I said , with no emotion and wiping my tears. Monroe gave me a smile and I went up to my room . After I closed the door , I crawled in the bed and could only feel empty. He cheated on me , with my brothers girlfriend . I couldn't even bare going to work tomorrow but I know the time will come for when I have to face him , and Juliette. Since my eyes were sore from crying , they were urging me to shut them .

*THE NEXT MORNING*

I couldn't even sleep, only closing my eyes so the stinging feeling went away. I got ready around 6:30,and walked down the stairs. When I went into the kitchen , Nick was there. He was fully ready and drinking coffee.

The dark bags under his eyes confirmed that he didn't sleep either. I poured myself a cup and sat at the end of the table. We didn't need to say anything to know how we were feeling. He got up and I soon followed. We both sat down in the car as he started driving.

"  I don't know what to do y/n . "

" About driving or about Juliette."

" I can't dump her cause I still love her and I can't kill the captain cause he's your boyfriend."

" I loved him Nick. I just don't understand why ." I cross my arms .

" Look I might not be able to control my self if I see Juliette ," I say .

" I understand . I could say the same about Renard." He gripped the steering wheel tighter and flared his nose. We decided to sit in the car of the precinct for 30 minutes until we see more and more cops show up.

We walk into the precinct and Hank isn't here yet. Neither is Sean . Nick then gets a call.

" We'll be there soon. Y/n we got a body. Hanks there, But so is Sean." I sigh and we get in the car.

We show up and see police tape. Walking through the cops, I see the man I cried about all last night standing over the body.He looked happier than usual and I could see on his face he was gonna try and talk to me .Nick was good at pretending but I wasn't. Nick asked what we got and Hank explained. Mean while , I could feel Sean looking at me. I kept turning away until we were done with the body , trying not to break down there and then. While we were walking back , I heard someone coming up behind me.
