Back in the Woods...
Some of the Monster Team are sitting down and trying to think of a plan.
"Hm. Looks like slim farmer pickings around here. Let's find a place where they're more likely to be hidin'," Ruggie says.
"Okay, how about the Hall of Mirrors? We'll mop those farmers up, easy! Haw!" The monster says.
And with that, the Monster Team hurries off.
"Now, then..." Ruggie says.
Then Ruggie calls out, "Leona. I know you're there. The monster team's all gone besides me."
Soon, Leona walks out of the bushes, "Ugh. I still don't get what the point of this stupid event is. I'm too old to be playin' tag."
"You're only too old 'cause you repeated a year," Ruggie mutters.
Leona glares at Ruggie, "What was that? Wanna run that one by me again?"
"Don't mind me, just muttering to myself!" Ruggie says.
"And I can't even skip it without taking a hit to my PE grade. This stinks," Leona says.
"It's even worse because PE's mandatory. You can't afford to fail," Ruggie says, "That's the whole reason I'm out here playing spy, talking to a member of the farmer team... To make sure you don't get knocked out of the running. As a Savanaclaw student, I wouldn't want my housewarden to crash 'n burn right outta the gate."
Leona scoffs, "Tch... Always trying to get me in your debt. Fine. I'll buy you the cafeteria's daily special every day for a week."
Ruggie snickers, "Shyeeheehee. Pleasure doin' business!"
Just then, Azul comes out, "That will be quite enough backroom dealings. You'll be claiming an impressive trophy indeed, guys."
Soon, Jack comes out as well. "I told you, I don't take orders from you!"
"I don't think that really matters at this point," Tanzanite says.
"Yeah. Right now, we're going to take down some cheaters," Jasper says with a frown on his face.
Jack agrees and confronts them, "Leona, Ruggie... I'd say I'm disappointed, but this isn't new. Unlike SOME people, I don't go easy on my fellow dormsmen. Ready or not, Housewarden—here I come!"
"Wait till I get my hands on that creep," Jasper says.
With that, Jack comes out and dashes towards them, which catches Ruggie and Leona's attention.
"What in the world?" Leona asks.
Ruggie turns and yelps, "Gah! That huge hand's reaching for us! Leona, get out of here before—" and soon Leona and Ruggie have been tackled to the ground.
"Whoops... Too late," Ruggie says, feeling a bit flattened.
And now, Jasper is sitting on Ruggie's back.
Leona looks to see Jack has tackled him to the ground, "Jack, you scoundrel. First you turn against me at the Spelldrive tournament, and now this? Bad enough you betrayed me to the pampered redhead, but now it's the cephalo-punk, along with the two cubs? You turncoat!"
"Wh... It ain't like that at all! This game isn't played along dorm lines, and you know it!" Jack says, offended.
"Yeah. And let's not forget who started that mess by being a cheater," Jasper says.
Then Azul says, "Heh. Listen to that: the yowling of a beaten lion. You're only embarrassing yourself, Leona. This match goes to me."
"Aw, man... There goes my week of lunch specials," Ruggie says, pouting.
Then Azul says, "In the Beanfest games, students who contribute to their team's victory get bonus extra credit in PE. This is a prime opportunity to improve my grade without having to actually exert myself. I would be a fool to miss this chance!"
"Ah, now it makes sense," Leona replies, "Your athletic prowess is below sea level as it is."
"Yeah, watchin' Azul in flight class is just plain cringey," Ruggie says.
"No wonder you were so dead-set on this," Jack replies.
"I guess it makes sense since your true form was an octopus," Tanzanite says.
"Yeah. Imagine trying to do PE with eight legs instead of two," Jasper says.
"Can it," Azul says with a frown.
Then turns to Ruggie, "As for you, Ruggie—I expect you to help me if you don't want me reporting your misconduct to Coach Vargas."
Ruggie yelps, "Yikes. Something tells me you're gonna run me even more ragged than Leona already does."
"Now, I believe we have more farmers to catch!" Azul laughs and then says, "Ah hah hah hah hah!"
Ruggie groans and says, "Looks like I'm out."
"No kidding," Jasper says, crossing his arms.
Ruggie glares at Jasper and shouts, "Get off of my back, Jasper!"
And soon, it's clear that Ruggie and Leona are out. Leona has been caught and Ruggie has been disqualified.
