46: The End For Her?

Same time when the raid first began:

Todoroki stared into his breakfast with a blank look. His body felt heavy. So much so that he didn't even want to eat. Y/n's not here, he thought, his face falling. Is she ok? What if she gets hurt? What if the mission fails and she—

"Todoroki?" He blinked, startled from his thoughts. He turned to see Yaoyorozu staring down at him worriedly. She pointed at the door where some of the others were leaving. "School is about to start. You'll be late if," she trailed off as she twisted her fingers together. "Is everything alright? You seem out of it." Todoroki looked away, choosing not to answer.

Yaoyorozu glanced to the side nervously. I should leave him alone, but. Her eyes sparked with determination. Y/n wouldn't want to see him like this in her absence! "Todoroki!" she placed a hand on her chest, eyes bright. "You're worried for Y/n, right?" His eyes widened, giving her her answer. Ok, I can do this. Just pretend you are Y/n, she thought as she sighed.

She glared down at Todoroki, catching him off guard. "Do you really think Y/n would want to see you like this?" she asked, crossing her arms. His eyes flashed in surprise as he imagined her standing next to Yaoyorozu with the same expression.

"What do you think you're moping around for?" she asked, but he could have sworn it was Y/n's voice speaking.

Yaoyorozu's expression softened. "Todoroki, you like Y/n, don't you?" He flinched, jumping to his feet.

"N-no! I can't she," he trailed off, face falling. "She deserves someone better. I don't even know how to...love someone like that," he mumbled. She huffed with a smile. So, he speaks, she thought.

"Don't you think that's for her to decide?" she asked. Todoroki's eyes widened, "W-what?"

Yaoyorozu stepped closer, causing him to fumble back. "Y/n should decide whether she wants you or, Bakugou or anyone else."

"You knew about Bakugou?" She chuckled as she narrowed her eyes with a smile. "Of course, who do you take me for? I'm her best friend! I see a lot of things," she mumbled the last part. Her mind drifted to that box of desserts in your room. I still get a bad feeling about those, she thought.

She sighed as she turned around. "Follow your heart Todoroki and you too Bakugou," she added, turning to the corner. Bakugou stepped out, looking irritated. "How'd you know I was here?"

"As I said, I see a lot of things," she replied with a smirk. Bakugou stepped closer. "And I saw your expression when you said that. What's up with that?" he growled as Yaoyorozu flinched.

"We should get going, or we'll be late," she replied coldly, surprising Bakugou. He scoffed as he walked past. "Whatever."

Aizawa was gone, so the class worked on special moves for the day. After school Todoroki and Bakugou headed out for their classes.

"Oi, walk behind me!" Bakugou seethed. Todoroki didn't bother him with a glance as he stared at the floor. This irked him, and Bakugou opened his mouth. "Do you think she's ok?" Todoroki asked, cutting him off before he could say anything.

His anger almost immediately left Bakugou. The worry that had been eating at him all day resurfaced. He looked away, silence following. "Headset is strong. She can handle herself," he replied quietly.

Todoroki's face twisted as he recalled your sobs that one night. That night, he thought.
