"Patience and silence had one beautiful daughter. And her name was vengeance."

I WAS WHERE I usually was in the mornings: keeled over the toilet as I wretched up the contents of my stomach. Currently, my head was rested against my arm, eyes closed as I nearly fell asleep listening to the sound of the breese filtering through the window cracked open in the bedroom.
Perhaps it was just the fact I felt like my insides were churning, but this day seemed even more miserable than the previous. And that was saying quite a bit given I'd been kidnapped yesterday.
My nausea had subsided just slightly, and I was basking in the fact I wasn't utterly dead inside for the moment. I forced myself to focus on that soft breeze coming from the window, focus on the light chirping of the birds outside. I hoped that centering my attention on something else might make me forget about the fact I was hunched over the toilet bowl trying not to spill me insides.
Fortunately, I found myself drifting off slightly.
Hayley was off in the bayou with Elijah, and Rebekah was off gallivanting somewhere, meaning it was just me today—well, that was assuming Klaus would be going on his own merry little adventures with Marcel later in the day.
I was already contemplating how I might fill the inescapable boredom that followed me everywhere within this house. I hated being cooped up, I needed to do something—
A loud knocking on my door sounded through my room.
My head snapped up, and though my body was still bleary and sick, I knew that could not be good given that the only other person in this house was the only one I didn't want to see me like this. Weak and...ugh, I hated the word...frail.
The knocking sounded again.
Pushing down my nausea, I forced myself up from the floor, bracing my hands on the toilet to pull myself into a standing position. It took everything in me to force down the churning of my stomach, and though it was still looming, at least I wasn't actively retching...though I was sure whatever guise of not being sick I created would be ruined by the fact I was probably looked like a corpse.
I walked slowly toward the door, stopping when I was right in front of it and taking a long, slow breath. I gathered myself, plastered on a stoney expression...and then reached for the door handle.
The door opened with a creak, and immediately my gaze landed on the man standing just outside. He arched a brow at me, "Took you long enough."
I narrowed my eyes. "What do you want?"
