~~Sally's Pov~~
She smiles brightly as she walks beside Jane with a bouquet of your favorite flowers in hand. What no one pointed out and the reason that they all left just telling daddy you'd all be back was to surprise you. The reason for all of this secrecy is the fact tomorrow is Mother's Day! They all figured you probably forgot about it completely, especially since daddy decided to keep you all to himself yesterday. All of them are out to get decorations and presents for you. She can't wait. You haven't gotten a happy Mother's Day since you lost her, so you deserve to have a good one.
She's most excited for the big present they've all gotten you together. It's driving her crazy not being able to tell you. It's a huge surprise that she knows you'll love, but everyone else is on edge about it. It's a big declaration of how much they care about you and adore you, and she can't wait to give it to you.
"Sally, what do you think of this?" Mary asks, stopping at a small dress stall.
When none of them liked any of the things in the regular stores Mary told them about something called a swap meet. Apparently a bunch of little shops and small businesses set up on the street in different booths. She said someone is bound to have something, and they've been to a couple of them now. She looks at the beautiful dress in Mary's hand, her eyes widening. Who thought you could find something so beautiful from a small home business.
"She can wear it for date night!" She tells her with a grin. "I think it's perfect!"
"Yes!" Mary smiles, paying for the dress. "Have you thought of anything to give her yet?"
"No. I thought about making her a drawing but that feels so small compared to everyone else's gifts," She mumbles softly, squeezing the bouquet a little harder. "I don't think she'll like it."
"Hello there!" A young woman in a beautiful blue dress waves to them. "You look like you can do art. Would you like a canvas?"
"There you go," Mary encourages her. "Have fun with it. Just draw what comes from the heart when we get home. We'll keep mom distracted."
"I'll try," She mumbles, still uncertain.
Would it be enough? It feels so small compared to everyone else and she's scared you might feel like she doesn't love you enough to think of something else. Still, you used to adore her drawings for you. A small smile comes to her lips from the memory that goes through her mind. Now that she thinks about it, she gave you a drawing every year. When she turned five she really appreciated the excitement you always showed her about her art. She remembers the way your eyes always lit up as soon as you got to her gift, so she just kept doing it. You're the reason she's enjoyed art even in death. Maybe this is the most perfect present she can give you.
"Okay! Can I please have that big canvas?" Sally asks the lady who nods and smiles.
Mary hands over the money and helps carry the canvas since Sally still has the flowers. Everyone meets up at the end of the day when they've finished their shopping.
"We need to get wrapping paper," Clockwork reminds everyone.
Hopefully daddy doesn't mind them renting the hotel room for another day so they can all wrap the presents. They'll set up the yard before you get up on Mother's Day. You should be okay spending more time with daddy right? She knows you two haven't gotten a lot of alone time lately. Especially since the battle with Zalgo.
"I need to get back to paint! Someone needs to call Uncle Splendy!" She cries in a panic. "It has to be done in time."
"Me and Mary will take her back," Jane assures everyone. "We'll see the rest of you there."
