Heather:

I was standing at the bulletin board with Noah and Courtney. We had the list of the girls who had made the cheer team.

"Question: Why the fuck is Amy on that list?" Noah sarcastically asked as he nailed it to the board.

"Cause her sister, Sammy, told us that if Amy wasn't put on the team their mom would sue the school. Sammy felt bad though. But, we can't risk the reputation of our school so..." Courtney explained.

"Ugh, I hate blackmailers," I said. Maybe I was a bit of a hypocrite sometimes.

Noah and Courtney eyed me suspiciously before laughing. "Oh crap, Heather, we gotta get to class," Noah told me hurriedly. "Omg, you're right! See ya later Court!" I called waving to her.

"So, did you end up talking to Cody?" Noah asked me. "Oh yeah..." I nervously giggled, "Turns out, he just got freaked out by something you said that day. But, I'm pretty sure everything should be fixed between you two," I finished saying trying to act cool.

Noah glanced at me, raising an eyebrow as if he was trying to catch me in the lie. "Okay..." He responded unsure of what to make of my weird actions.

I did talk to Cody, but when I asked him what was wrong, I wasn't expecting the answer he gave me...

(Flashback)

"C'mon, Cody. Just tell me what's wrong. Why do you keep on ghosting Noah?" I asked expectantly. "Promise you won't say anything?" Cody said holding his pinkie finger out. "Promise," I answered linking my pinkie with his.

"Okay, so I may have a small crush on Noah," Cody whispered. I spit out my drink. "YOU WHAT?!" I screamed.

"SHUSH! Do you want to alert the entire hall?" Cody hissed at me.

"Sorry. But seriously? You like him?" I asked, leaning forward in my chair. "Yes. I like his sarcasm, his chocolatey eyes, the way he's so smart, he so cute, and everything," Cody dreamily sighed.

"Aww, that's so sweet. You should tell him," I suggested. "Hah, as if he'd like someone like me. He probably doesn't even know a little about me," Cody said defeated. "Then try getting to know him. Trust me, he'll like you," I smiled. "Thanks, Heather," Cody responded.

"Of course," I said hugging him. "You won't tell anyone I said this, right?" He asked worriedly. "No, your secret's safe with me," I reassured him.

"Oh, I gotta go. Bye, Cody," I said walking away. Cody softly waved goodbye back.

I was gonna get those two together if it's the last thing I ever do.

(End of Flashback)

So, how am I going to get those two together? I guess the first thing to do would be to let them know a bit about each other.

"—Heather. Earth to Heather. HEATHER!" I was snapped out of my thoughts, by Noah who slammed his hardcover against my desk.

"What?" I asked him. "What's the answer to number 7?" He whispered to me. "Do it yourself," I snapped at him. "I already did it. Ms. Ellody wants to know. She called on you," Noah explained chuckling.

"Oh, um, I didn't get up to that question. Sorry," I said sheepishly. Noah whispered to me, "That was the first question, and we've been doing this for half an hour." Fuck.

I started giggling nervously, looking around the room. Luckily, Noah slid me his book with all the answers.

I glanced at it and looked back at Ms. Ellody. "X is equal to -2," I answered. "Thank you for that answer, Noah. Next time I tell the class to do something, Heather, it applies to EVERYONE, including you. Now, you can do numbers 8-14 for homework, Heather. The rest of you, don't have any homework. You're all dismissed," Ms. Ellody said.

I groaned in annoyance as I packed up my stuff and waited for Noah. We left the classroom and walked to the lunchroom.

"Ms. Ellody seriously annoys me sometimes. Can I get the answers from you, please," I asked Noah who was reading, carefully dodging anything that was in his path without looking up. "I would, but she took my book, so you WOULDN'T be able to copy me," Noah responded.

"Ugh, I hate her sometimes," I complained as Noah nodded in agreement.

"Heather! Noah! Wait up!" I heard a voice call from behind me. We turned around and saw Cody running at us. "Hey—can I sit with you guys for lunch? I have no one to sit with," Cody asked, catching his breath. "Sure. C'mon," I said as we continued to walk to our table.

We finally got to our table in the back of the cafeteria where Courtney, Justin, Trent, Lindsay, Gwen, Eva, Sierra, Izzy, and Leshawna were all sitting.

"Hey guys, do you mind if Cody sits with us?" I asked them. "Not at all," They all said. "Thanks," Cody smiled.

"Whatcha reading, Noah?" Cody asked looking at Noah who didn't look up from his book. "One of Us is Lying," Noah blankly responded. "Oh, cool, how is it?" Cody said.

"It's fine. I've already read it. My parents won't let me buy new books so I'm stuck reading my old ones," Noah answered.

The bell rang and we all got up. "I have a free period. Does anyone else wanna join me?" Noah asked closing his book. "I also have a free," Cody said. "Nice, wanna go outside?" Noah offered. "Sure," Cody responded, slightly blushing.

I winked at him and smiled. "$20 bucks says they're gonna get together by homecoming," Izzy said smirking. We all shook on the bet and walked off to our respective classes.

Speaking of homecoming, it's next week. I should probably go dress shopping with the girls. I have to get a dress that matches Alejandro's suit.

Come to think of it, Alejandro still hasn't asked me to go with him.
