Noah:

"So he asked you to homecoming as friends, but you wanna go as more than friends?" I heard Courtney call out from her room. "Yeah, but I don't wanna make it awkward or anything. What if he doesn't like me like that? Then I lost a great friend," I explained. "Yeah, but you could just take a chance. What if he does like you? Then you'll spend your whole life regretting that you never said anything," Gwen said sitting down next to me. "I guess. I'll just let it happen," I sighed. "Just do it. It'll all be fine," Izzy tried reassuring me.

"Whatever, let's just go. We have to be there by 2:00, and I don't wanna be late. And we have to get Cody, but he's next door with Justin," I told them. "Yep, I'm ready," Courtney responded, walking out of her room.

We walked to my dorm and got Cody. Then, we all left and got into Gwen's car. I always drive since Izzy drives like she's playing Mario Kart in the last lap, Courtney has intense road rage, Gwen drives too slow, and I guess Cody didn't want to drive.

Izzy pushed Cody to the front of the car into the passenger seat. Courtney, Gwen, and Izzy all smirked at each other. I shot them a quick glare then pulled the car out of the parking spot. The mall wasn't super far from the school so it was about a fifteen minute drive.

We finally got to the mall and parked the car. Heather, Lindsay, Bridgette, Leshawna, Sierra, Beth, Katie, and Sadie were already there.

"Bout time you guys showed up," Heather joked. "You said 2:00, and it is 2:00," I retorted. "Whatever, let's just go," Courtney said, pulling me towards the entrance.

"So, since there are a bunch of us, should we split into three groups and meet at the food court in three hours for something to eat?" Gwen suggested. "Sure. I'll go with Court, Gwen, and Izzy," I responded. "Lindsay, Beth, Leshawna, and Cody can go with me," Heather said. "And I'll go with Bridgette, Katie, and Sadie!" Sierra squealed.

We all nodded our heads in agreement and went off. The girls started dragging me around a bunch of stores until we got to a Macy's.

We started walking around the dress section when Courtney started talking to me. "So when are you gonna say you like him?" She asked, referring to Cody. "What are you talking about?" I said annoyed. "C'mon, we all know you wanna confess to him. Just tell him during homecoming," Izzy responded, slinging her are around my shoulder.

"Noah, we've all seen the way he looks at you. He likes you. Tell him," Gwen told me as Izzy agreed with her. "No. I'm not gonna ruin another relationship because of how I feel. If he likes me, he'll say something. Until then, we are friends, and we are going to stay friends," I said getting slightly frustrated.

I know I overreacted. I know they're only trying to help me. But I just don't want to ruin another friendship I had again.

But maybe they're right. Maybe I should just tell Cody how I feel. Maybe he does feel the same way. Okay, maybe I will tell Cody during home—

Out of nowhere, some random store clerk appears behind me and taps my shoulder sharply, interrupting my thoughts.

I turn around and scowl at her. "Um, can I help you?" I asked agitated. "Sir, you do realize you're in the women's dress section, right?" She responded. "Yes, and?" I asked again, getting even more upset. "I'm going to have to ask you to leave," The salesperson said narrowing her eyes at me.

"For what? What am I doing that is SO offensive that I must leave? Am I hurting anyone? Am I saying something horrible to anyone? Am I breaking into the dressing rooms? No. I am not doing any of that. I just came to go shopping with my friends for homecoming and you ruined that. So thanks a lot. Leave me alone, okay? I'm already in a bad mood, and you're making it worse," I snapped, glaring at the salesperson before turning on my heel and walking away.

I walked back to where Courtney, Gwen, and Izzy were standing and they looked at me. "What's wrong?" Gwen asked concerned. "Just some bitchy saleslady started going off on me and was telling me to leave the store because I was in the dress section," I responded rolling my eyes. "Um, who does she think she is? Who is she to tell my best friend where he can and can't shop?" Courtney said furiously.

Courtney stormed off, probably trying to find that lady's manager or something. I chuckled lightly to myself when Izzy turned to face me. "Noah, I'm sorry for constantly telling you to confess to Cody. Maybe you should just tell him when you want to," Izzy apologized. "Don't sweat it, Iz. Besides, I've been thinking about what you said, and I will tell Cody how I feel," I responded happily. "NO WAY! SERIOUSLY?" Gwen asked excitedly. I nodded my head in delight and Izzy started cheering. "FINALLY! YAY!" Izzy started squealing.

"What's up with her?" Courtney said, walking back to us. "Oh, she's just excited that Noah's gonna confess to Cody during homecoming," Gwen answered, still smiling. "Yeah, but don't say anything. Okay?" I told them. "Nice! So now we have to find you something good to wear," Courtney responded also smiling.

"Wait, Court, what?" I asked getting caught off guard. "We're gonna find you something nice to wear. We can't have you confess to the boy of your dreams in that," Courtney said pointing at my sweater-vest.

"Um, I won't have to wear anything to fancy will I, because—AH!" I was cut off by the girls dragging me to a different section.

This is going to be fun.

Cody:

After being dragged from store to store by Heather, Lindsay, Beth, and Leshawna, it was finally 5:00. "Guys, shouldn't we head to the food court so we can meet up with the others?" I said in more of a question than a statement.

"Oh, yeah Cody, you're right. Call Noah and tell him to meet us at the food court in ten," Heather responded.

I pulled out my phone and started to dial Noah. After letting it ring for a while, he finally answered.

N: Hello?

C: Hey Noah, it's Cody.

N: Yeah, what's up?

C: Heather said for you guys to meet us at the food court in ten minutes.

N: Okay, wait one second—No, I'm not wearing that Izzy—Sorry 'bout that.

C: It's fine. See ya in ten.

N: Bye, Gap.

"Bridgette said that they're on their way to the food court right now. What did Noah say?" Heather asked. "He said he'll be there in ten minutes," I answered.

"Good, and I need to talk to you, Cody," Heather said, pulling my arm. "M'kay, 'bout what?" I asked her. "Noah," She responded smiling. "When are you gonna tell him you like him?" She continued. "I don't know," I told her. "Why don't you tell him during homecoming?" Heather suggested. "But we're going as friends. I don't wanna make it awkward," I sighed.

"Yeah, but you never know. What if he likes you back?" Heather said. "You're right. I will tell him," I responded. "Good job. I'll be rooting for you," Heather replied. "Thanks, Heather," I told her smiling. "Anytime," Heather smiled.

Hopefully Noah does like me back.
