I ran to the Hokage tower as fast as I could. I had to get there and talk with her. I had to figure out just exactly what was going on. Once there I was taken aback by the sad look on Kakashi sensei's face. He was sitting on the bottom steps with his head down.

This wasn't like him. Every time I saw him he was upbeat and cheerful, something was definitely wrong. It made what Shikamaru and Neji said even more true. "Kakashi sensei". I said carefully as I approached.

He looked up at me his eyes solemn. "Ino". I sat next to him. "Are you ok"? He looked down. "Not really but it's something I'll have to deal with on my own". "Is it about Naruto? Are the rumors about him being arrested true"?

He sighed. "They are. He was arrested and sent to Hozuki Castle for attacking the Raikage and killing hidden cloud and hidden stone shinobi". I looked at him shocked. "That can't be true. Your his sensei, you know he's not capable of that. You have to help him". "What I think isn't irrelevant in this matter I'm afraid". He stood up and left.

Kakashi

I couldn't stand it. I had to get away from her and that tower. The longer I lingered there on the steps the more my heart would hurt. I hated this. I hated being powerless and unable to do anything. It was bad enough I had already failed Sasuke and Mashi but now I had gone and done the same thing with Naruto.

They're not the only ones though. I also failed you all of those years ago. If only I had been stronger you might still be here with me. You would be able to tell me what it is I need to do to make all of this right. I have no idea what I'm doing Obito, none at all.

"Hey, Kakashi heading out"? One of the guards asked as I approached the gate. "Yeah, I should be back by nightfall". "Stay safe out there". "I will, thank you".

I took off and flew through the trees. I had to get away for a while and try to clear my head. I needed to make sense of all of this and knew there was only one place that would be able to put me at ease.

Making sure no one was following me I went further into the woods and didn't stop until I was at a secret riverbank. It connected to Nakano River and was surrounded by many tall trees. It's the only place I felt safe after losing him.

We had found this place together while playing tag one day. I was chasing him laughing and he was running with his eyes closed laughing. I saw when he was about to fall and called out to him but it was too late, he missed a branch and fell into the river laughing. I laughed as well once I knew he was ok.

"I really need to talk to you right now". My voice was wobbly as I sat cross-legged in front of the makeshift headstone. "I did something awful Obito, Whether you believe me or not isn't important but it's the truth and I did do it.

Naruto's been arrested and sent to Hozuki Castle. The current Hokage Lady Tsunade bealives the current Raikage. He told her that Naruto broke into his office and attacked him along with several of his subordinates and killed Hidden Cloud and Hidden Stone Ninja.

I know that's not true. Naruto isn't capable of doing something like that he's not that kind of person. I knew that yet I still stood there and did nothing as they took him away". I hung my head sobbing. "I can never do anything right, can I? First you, then Sasuke and Mashi, and now Naruto. I failed all of you".

The next thing I knew I was being yanked to my feet with an arm around my throat holding me up. I struggled as I looked into the eyes of my attacker. His eyes were mismatched but one of them I recognized right away as the other half of my mangekyou. His hair had grown a little longer stopping at his shoulders, he was taller than me being about 6, 4, was built with the side of his face being scarred and his left eye possessing the renningan.

"O Obito". "So you do admit it and here I thought I would have to pry the information out of you". He looked at me sternly but his voice wasn't harsh. "I'm sorry". I whispered. "Sorry won't cut it, they needed you and you weren't there for them.

I always knew you were one to follow the rules but to actually let those bastards brainwash and manipulate you. Just how weak are you? Do you have no morals at all"?

Do you want me to intervene Kakashi?

No Siro, he won't hurt me. I'm ok

"It's not that simple". I teared up. "How so"? "You won't believe me even if I told you". He jerked my head up a little more. "That may be true but you're still going to tell me but only after you've had a talk with your Hokage".

"What do you want me to say"? "You're going to plead Naruto's case, you know like you should've done before". "I want to Obito, I really do but-". "No, that word doesn't exist in this scenario". "I understand". He activated Kamui and within a matter of seconds, I was back at the Hokage tower steps.

I looked around and didn't see Obito but knew he was watching. Taking in a deep breath I made my way up the stairs and down the long hallway to her office.

"Come in".

I made my way inside and immediately kneeled to her. "Whats the matter Kakashi"? "I want to discuss Naruto with you, my lady". "What about him"? "I don't believe we should give up on him so easily, he is one of our own after all. He loves the village and does everything he can to help everyone here as well as protect it. We owe it to him to look into this".

"Kakashi, I know he's one of your own but the hidden leaf has already looked into this. The answer is no. Naruto is no longer a leaf shinobi nor will anyone from here have any business with him. He's no longer your student just focus on Sakura. Train her to the best of your abilities".

"What do you mean my kind"? "Are you not a jinjuriki as well".
