PAST | RHEA
Our relationship has ran its course.
I don't know how many times I had re read the message Lauren sent to me. It'd been nearly a week since I left Australia, and I could hardly think about my own future, because she wasn't in it.
She didn't want to be in my future.
It was hard not to believe that it was my fault. If there was something I should have done different. Should I have asked differently?
Why the fuck didn't she come with me...
I just hopped out of the taxi to the arena I'd been invited to for training, then to sit and watch the episode of wwe tonight. I was excited, for sure, but what would I do when I get back to that small and lonely apartment? Who do I tell? The one person I'd want to tell all about it, doesn't want to hear it.
I was walking inside when someone caught my attention. Partly because they were leaning on a bike, which always made me look now. But also because I recognised them, and I was fan girling a little.
I couldn't help but go over.
He smiled when he saw me. "Afternoon, can I help you?" He pulled a packet of cigarettes from his pocket and lit it
"Um." I cleared my throat. "I'm here for the training, and I just recognised you, I couldn't miss the chance of meeting you. I'm Rhea Ripley." I held my hand out, trying to be respectful as possible.
He smiled more, and he looked so sweet. Just like I always imagined he would be. "Rhea Ripley. That's a bad ass name." He held out his hand, offering me a cigarette. "Want one?"
I don't smoke. I went to decline until I realised I was rejecting a chance to talk to a legend like he was. Like hell, I could use one. "Ok."
I took it he helped me light it in my mouth. "Tell me about yourself, Ripley."
PRESENT | LAUREN
Leaving the front of Rheas house last night was absolutely torture. Knowing she was hurting and in pain and upset.
I think I stayed there for another 20 minutes, knocking on her door and trying to get her to come back out. But she wouldn't. She turned all the lights off in her house, and I gave up. She obviously didn't want me there at all.
This morning at Raw, I had another workshop this week, which I wasn't looking forward to very much.
Pulling up, I noticed Rheas bike already here. God... I wasn't looking forward to this. Since she always ignored me, when I'd rather her scream at me.
But another bike caught my attention nearby. Not just that it was an old but extremely fucking wicked bike, it was the man leaning against it. Tall, broad, and really fucking familiar.
Of course I remember who that was. Rhea adored the man growing up. I hadn't seen him in the last workshops. I actually recall someone talking about how he'd be returning soon. He'd been away for a good few years now, I think because of injury unfortunately.
I was just gonna move on and do my job, knowing I'd see him inside, but he smiled at me.
I smiled back and walked a few steps towards him.
"Afternoon." He said deeply. "I haven't seen you around here, you're new?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I'm doing some stunt workshops. My name is Lauren-"
"Lauren Ford" he finished. "Paul did mention your name, actually." He pulled a packet of cigarettes out, beginning to light one. "Want one?"
I looked to the smoke he just offered me. And like hell could I use one.
