Physio was hell.
Physio was pure fucking hell, and nearly had me screaming. Sweating. Crying. Throwing up. I'd really done my ankle badly.
But I was so determined to come back and get better. I needed to get back to work, and I was so fucking thankful I had Rhea to support me right now.
I was so fucking lucky.
I worked my way over from the bench to her truck, where she hopped out to help me, even though I hardly needed it. I think she missed me and just wanted an excuse to touch me. "You okay? You're so red." Once I was sat in the car, crutches on the backseat, she pressed her hand against my cheek. "Hot too."
"That was torture." I groaned and rubbed over my head exhaustedly.
"Hurt?" She checked and started the engine. "It'll get better over time, this is a good thing. Like you said my therapy is a good thing."
I looked at her. "Yeah, that's right." I smiled at her.
She hid her smile too and focused driving back home.
When I checked what time her flight was later, she reached to put a hand on my thigh and squeeze. "3." She answered quietly, I don't think she wanted to go do these live shows. She was tired and exhausted still, she didn't nearly get enough time off I wished she did. Plus, I don't think she wanted to leave me. "I'm gonna call Paul when we get back, that way I can hopefully come and get you on the way to Raw Monday."
I lent on my side to look at her. "I'm gonna miss you."
"I know, it's only a few days." Rhea assured me even though she probably needed reassurance herself. "Can you-"
"I'll be right here when you need me. FaceTime me whenever. Call or text, Rhea. I am here." I assured her.
"Thanks, Ren."
Getting home, Luna settled in beside me on the couch, and I pulled the blanket up for us, and she lied down, showing me her belly to rub. I sprinkled my fingers over her belly, and she stretched more out.
She was so sweet, I adored her-
Barry crashed into us, disrupting us completely. Jesus, he loved doing that.
"Barry!" Rhea shouted from the kitchen. "Sorry, Lauren."
I scratched Barry on the ears and he seemed happy, then Luna found another comfy spot nearby, and I reached for her too. "It's like having kids." I said.
"I imagine so." Rhea replied, continuing cutting up fruit she brought for me earlier. No peach, of course.
She passed me my bowl and sat beside me, eating hers too. "I wanna ask you something, please." She said.
"Yeah?" I wondered what she wanted to ask. "You don't have to ask to ask me something."
Rhea smiled weakly. "Do you talk to your mum and dad much?"
I shrugged. "I might have a call with them every few weeks, why's that?"
Rhea shuffled on her spot, like she was unsure. "Would you ever tell them about- about me and you?"
I thought about that. "Maybe."
"Yeah? Would you be scared to?" She asked.
I shrugged softly. "I don't know, not really scared. Not anymore. They can't kick me out of home anymore."
Rhea rubbed at her jaw, probably feeling a little uncomfortable at hearing that. "I'm sorry."
"No, it's fine. I just, I don't know if it would be really worth it." I replied. "I mean, you're worth telling them, Rhea. I'm sure if-" I wondered if I should say this, but I did. "I'm sure if we get married one day or something, I'd tell them."
