PAST | RHEA/DEMI

I had the biggest crush on Lauren.

I couldn't stop thinking about her.

During class, I missed being around her. Out of school, I just wanted to keep texting her. Out of class, I missed her and she was with me.

Well, in the friend group.

With my bloody girlfriend.

I know it was so bad, that I couldn't stop imagining Lauren instead of Ivy. I'd known Ivy since I first began high school, I've only known Lauren for like a month...

But she was already so much more interesting than Ivy. She didn't ignore me. Never made me feel unappreciated. Lauren was always so so kind and so funny. Even after I got her suspended, she laughed about with me.

Her and those green bloody eyes I always thought about.

Shit.

Getting my thoughts back together, I sat down beside Ivy outside, and she smiled a little at me, hardly acknowledging me outside of her phone, where she always seemed to be paying attention to lately.

"Ivy." I said, and she didn't hear me. "Ivy." I said again.

She finally looked at me. "What?"

"How was music?" I asked about her class.

"Yeah, fine." She glanced back at her phone and tucked it away, and I wondered what she was always doing on there.

She used to ask me how art went... but now she doesn't.

Today was already depressing because Lauren wasn't here. I sent her a text earlier, but she hadn't replied. So art class was so boring without her before. Granted, we weren't allowed to sit on the same table anymore, because we snuck out, but we always texted and showed eachother our drawings and paintings across the room. Where she always laughed and-

I noticed Lauren across the grounds, walking this way.

She's here?

When she came over, she said a quick hello to Ivy, who didn't reply. Then she sat near me. "Hey, you just turned up? I thought you might be sick or something?" I asked her, admiring the way her hair was waved today, and she didn't wear as much makeup which I liked.

"No, just had the dentist." Lauren rolled her eyes. "How was art?" She asked eagerly.

I looked down and smiled. "Wanna see what I did?"

"Yes." Lauren sat forwards and watched me pull out my book.

I found the page I recently drew on, glancing at Ivy before I showed Lauren.

"Demi." She whispered and grabbed my book to look at it.

I drew her bike.

She sent me a picture of her dirt bike a couple days ago, and I saved it and drew it.

"This is great." She said.

"Thanks." I softly took the book from her hands. "You can have it." And I ripped the page from the spirals, and passed it to her.

"Thank you." Lauren replied and I could tell she really appreciated it.

She appreciated my art more than my own girlfriend appreciated me.

I heard Lauren's stomach grumble, and we both laughed. "Hungry?"

"Yeah." She groaned and closed her eyes. "I forgot my lunch."
