It's been five days since I asked Tessa for the concert tickets. She agreed to buy them for me. I sighed as the school day ended. I smiled, walking out of the building. I get into the car and I have Cake By The Ocean as Joe Jonas's ringtone, especially for him. He said he didn't like the song too much, but it is one of his biggest hits of his entire career. Everything else has been with his brothers.

I hear the ringtone and I pick up the phone to see that it's the photo of Joe and I from when he was inside my hotel room. It was after I spat my water all over him. I think it was because I figured out he was getting a divorce or something like that.

I picked up the phone and he was snickering, as I was buckling my seatbelt to the car.

    "Hi, Jessica!" He said.

"Hey Joe," I responded. "Why're you calling me?"

There was a pause between us. I started my car and then put Joe on speaker as I drove out of the parking lot.

"I am going to announce it tomorrow morning," Joe replied. I spat out my Starbucks all over my wheel.

    "FUCK!" I shouted.

"Did I do something wrong?" He asked.

He did do something wrong. Just as I was enjoying being a teacher, this bombshell drops on me that I may never be able to do it again. I have only done it for three weeks, why did I agree to this stupid shit?

"No!" I responded. "Nothing at all!"

There was an awkward pause in the car and Joe finally spoke up to me.

"If you want me to put it off, I can." He stated.

"No," I responded. "It's just going to make things worse."

    "Okay." He replied.

There is no point trying to tell him to not release it. He already stopped wearing his ring to concerts. He already got it out there through rumors and a TMZ article. If he's not going to release it now, he's most likely going to go into hiding. And I am all about helping people out of bad situations. It's why I wanted to teach in the first place.

Joe and I have been on the phone for an hour, as I lay in my bed, grading papers. With each pen mark, my arm gets more tired constantly. I sighed and then Joe chuckled.

"What are you doin?" He asked me.

"Nothing really too interesting," I replied. "Just grading high school math homework."

Joe sighed, and then I heard Nick and Kevin's voices in the background. Their footsteps get louder as they get closer to the phone and I looked down at all the papers.

"Who're you calling?" I hear Kevin ask.

I can tell it's Kevin's voice because he stood out like a sore thumb amongst the three of them.

"I'm calling Jessica," Joe answered. "The girl I invited backstage at opening night!"

I can hear Kevin and Nick's footsteps walk the other way, further and further from the phone.

As we talked for a few more minutes, I was still grading papers and he was getting his microphone handed to him for the big Texas show. The one before he announces his divorce.

"I wanna keep talking to you," Joe started to speak. "But I have to go give the audience what they want."

"I won't keep you," I replied. "Bye Joe!"

He hung up the phone and I went back to grading my papers, marking each wrong answer and putting the numbers they got right out of the total number of questions on the assignment. If you grade for completion, they'll never learn that the right answer is what gets you through life best.

I get up after grading the tests and I call the school.

    "Hello?" I asked.

"Hi, Ms. Orwell." The district phone answered.

"I am going to need a substitute for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday," I said on the phone. "I hope that's not too late of a notice for you guys to figure out!"

I put the assignments in my nightstand drawer, every single one marked in blue pen. I am putting the study to the test. The one that says that you are more likely to write what you remember  blue ink than in any other ink color. I'm not one for myths, I just think it would be fun to try out.
