After he finished his performance of the night, he called me on the phone. I answered the phone and the first thing I hear are loud and obnoxious screams from everyone in the background.

"So, I take that tonight went well?" I asked him.

"It was so good," He replied. "I just wish you were here to see it, that's all."

I sighed, looking toward my phone. He sent over a request to turn on the FaceTime option, which I accepted and saw his face with his black curls in his hair and his hazel eyes. For some strange reason, I missed looking at his face.

He put his hands through his hair and then smiled into the camera. I could tell he is living his best life right now.

"I'm going to announce the divorce at the next stop," Joe said. "I'm sorry I didn't do it tonight!"

I didn't care that he didn't do it tonight. It meant that I had a few more days to recoup and make sure that I could be a teacher for at least a little bit longer. I signed a NDA, so I wouldn't be able to tell Tessa that I am in a fake relationship with Joe. Although written as fake on paper, I don't exactly see it as fake, considering that he calls me everyday and talks to me like I'm his girlfriend.

"It's fine, Joe!" I replied. "I'm just glad you're having a great night!"

It has been a day since the last tour stop. He is on his way to the Arizona tour stop, which he performs at in two days from now. I leave the school and hop into my car, reading the articles about Joe Jonas putting his ring back on. Phew! I don't have to worry about Joe Jonas divorcing his wife. Maybe they got back together, I guess.

It kind of hurts me to think a man doesn't divorce his cheating wife. My father divorced my mother because she cheated on him with a bald man, as I recalled from how my father described the entire situation.

Before I got into the car, I could hear my Rollercoaster ringtone for Tessa.

After meeting Joe Jonas and getting to know him just a little bit more, I started putting Jonas Brothers and DNCE songs as my ringtones for everybody. Maybe their music isn't so bad when it's not your best friend forcing you to listen to it on repeat.

I answered the phone and the first thing I heard was yelling and screaming from her, which sounded like gibberish.

"He's coming to Sacramento in a week, Jess!" Tessa shouted. "I'm so excited to see him again!"

I rolled my eyes, pretending that I am not looking forward to seeing him. I know she's talking about Joe Jonas. I remember when we were eleven and Camp Rock came out, she was absolutely feral to see Joe on the screen.

"I know, Tess!" I replied. "I'm coming home on Friday."

"I am so excited for you to see them on Monday!" Tessa shouted through the phone.

"I think you need to rest tonight," I replied to her.

It's been two days since I called Tessa and she has been calling me on the daily, ensuring that I am still down to go on the tour. I can't pass up the opportunity to see Joe. That would be suspicious if it leaks that I am in a relationship with Joe, even though it's not a real one.

I sighed, working on my papers. I know today is the day that Joe is going to announce his divorce, I am just waiting for it to go live on the internet.

"Ms. Orwell, you haven't touched your lunch." One of the teachers said to me, looking at my food.

I was too busy looking for the announcement of the divorce to care about eating. This is getting way too out of hand for me. I took a bite of my lunch and then went back to looking at the articles, refreshing and refreshing Joe Jonas's Instagram page.

He finally posted the divorce announcement after the tenth refresh on Instagram. He really did it. He really announced the divorce. I know now that this is my downfall and I know this is the moment everything changes for me.

"Everything okay?" Another teacher asked me.

"Yes!" I responded hastily. "I'm fine."

Truth be told, I wasn't. I wasn't fine. One divorce announcement changed everything I had set for my life. Now, I have to pretend to be his girlfriend until his reputation washes over. This could take weeks, maybe even months. Maybe it could take a whole year. I sighed, as I ate the rest of my lunch, putting my phone back into my bag.
