It has been a couple of days and Tessa and I are in New Jersey, two days before they perform. I sighed and then looked at Tessa, who looked like she was having a blast in the hotel room.

"Cheer up, you're seeing your man for floor tickets in two days!" Tessa shouted. "This has been the funnest year of my life!"

I smiled to help me think about the bright side. It may have been the funnest day or year of her life, but that's not the case for me. These six months have been the most draining six months of my entire life.

~

Tessa yanked me out of bed and then walked me to the coffee shop neighboring the hotel and I looked at Tessa, who was nonstop talking about the Jonas Brothers concert at Jersey.

"I heard Jack Black is performing there!" Tessa exclaimed.

"Why would Jack Black be at a concert?" I asked her.

"Have you seen the new Mario Movie?" Tessa asked me in  response as she walked to the register.

"No." I answered. "I haven't."

She gasped. After ordering our coffees, she paid and then sat us at a table.

"Jack Black was Bowser, right?" She started explaining to me. I was uninterested in anything until I saw Joe walk into the coffee shop.

I covered my face with my hands and Tessa turned behind me to see that Joe was there. She turned back to me with her eyes widened heavily.

"Jess, he's here," Tessa whispered. "Talk to him!"

"NO!" I shouted.

Joe turned to see that I was there and I groaned, burying my face into the table. Instead of Joe ordering his coffee, he walked toward me and sat in a chair with us.

"Stalking me, aren't you?" Joe asked me.

"No!" I answered.

"We're just here to see a concert." Tessa said.

"Is it ours?" Joe asked.

Actually, yeah." Tessa answered. "I'm so excited for Wednesday! You guys are phenomenal!"

~

After an hour, Joe was still here talking to us. Tessa was doing more of the talking than me and I sighed while I just drank my coffee and didn't say much. I didn't want to make the moment awkward for her.

"So, what do you think, Jessica?" Joe asked me. "Are you excited for Wednesday?"

"Not really," I lied, sinking myself into my coffee. "I'm just her buddy."

Joe nodded and then looked at his watch. I could tell he wanted to get out of here.

"Hate to break it to you ladies, but I have to go." Joe said. "I have tour rehearsals. Wednesday and Thursday are supposed to be big nights for us."

Joe waved at us and then winked at me. He pulled out his phone as he was walking out of the door. Him talking to us made me realize how much I missed him. I missed him so much I could barely talk. Soon as Joe got into the car and drove off, Tessa shot me a look of disappointment.

"Not really?" Tessa asked me. "You said you're not excited to see him?"

    "I panicked, okay?" I shouted.

"Gosh, you really don't know how to talk to a man," Tessa shot at me. "Let's go."

Tessa took my arm and then we walked back to the hotel.

~

Tonight's the night. It's Wednesday and I am wearing the dress Joe got me while I was on their tour bus. Tessa gasped at the look of seeing it on me and then grinned, handing me a pair of white heels to match the dress.

"I think these would look good with it," Tessa said, placing the heels into my hand. "They match."

I placed the heels on and then looked at the mirror.

    "They're perfect." I replied.

"The tour starts in an hour, so we should head over now." Tessa said, grabbing her things.

Tessa was wearing a red dress and that Marilyn Monroe shade of red lipstick with red glitter heels to match the red. The glitter is a bit much in my opinion, but who am I to tell her that?

~

As we stood in line to get into the concert, the security guard recognized me and had Tessa and I cut the line. I would hear everyone's groans and I would sigh. This isn't what I wanted out of life, at least, not until recently.

Before I could get to my seat, someone tapped on my shoulder. I turned around to see that it was a reporter. I smiled and then waved.

    "Hello!" I said.

"Hi." She replied. "So, are you Jessica Orwell?"

I looked at Tessa and then I nodded, turning back to the reporter with the note pad.

    "Yes." I answered.

"I am going to need you for a few questions. It's for our paper on the tour," She said.

    "Okay." I replied.

~

After that lady asked me all those questions about the former relationship with Joe, I went to sit down in the floor seats with Tessa and I am so excited to see the brothers. I am so stupid for lying about it over coffee. My gosh.

"So, Jess, how excited are you?" Tessa asked. "I know you lied to Joe, but you can be honest with me."

I gulped and then looked as the lights started to dim and the videos of the brothers started playing on the big screen.

"I am." I answered, and then went back to the show.

~

As Burnin Up instrumentals started to play, I could hear the crowd go feral. If I remember correctly, this was one of their bigger songs from when they broke up. It was one of Tessa's favorites, besides Hesitate or I believe.

"I'm hot," Joe started to sing. "You're cold!"

"You go around like you know..." I sang along with Joe and then looked over at Tessa.

At this point, the entire crowd was screaming the lyrics and we were all cheering. It was their shared part and Joe walked to my area, sending me a cute wave. After the wave, Tessa looked toward me and screamed at me.

"He totally still likes you, Jess!" Tessa said. "He wouldn't send over a wave like that if he didn't like you!"

I ignored her. I just kept singing the lyrics to the song and minding my own business. I kept my eyes on Nick, as it made things easier to focus.

    "High heels!" Joe sang.

    "High heels!" Nick sang after.

    "Red dress" Joe sang.

    "Red dress!" Nick sang.

After Nick sang Red Dress the entire crowd was screaming so loud I could hear my ears feel like they're getting serious damage. I felt like my ears were about to bleed. It's so funny how girls go feral over two words that come out of Nick's mouth during a song. Red dress.

As intermission started after Burnin Up, a security guard came toward me and tapped on my shoulder while I was talking to Tessa. I sighed and then finally gave in after the fifth tap.

    "Yes?" I snapped.

"Someone would like to see you backstage," He said. "It's kind of urgent."

I nodded and then got escorted backstage with the security guard. I sighed because I knew exactly who called me back there.
