I walked home after seeing Joe Jonas on the dock. I keep rethinking. What if he didn't back up? What if we did kiss? How much of the plan would it change? This is a fake relationship and needs to stay that way. I don't need to be involved with a celebrity right now. I sighed, seeing Tessa with a cup of coffee, staring directly at me.

"When were you going to tell me?" Tessa asked.

"Tell you what?" I responded to her.

"That you're dating Joe Jonas?" She showed me the pictures of Joe and I holding hands.

"We're just friends," I replied. "Him and I have been friends since the cruise."

Tessa nodded sarcastically, setting her coffee on the table and then showing me more pictures of him and I together at a restaurant. She then slammed her phone onto the table. I am pretty sure she just broke it.

"Do just friends hold hands at restaurants, Jess?" Tessa asked me. I rolled my eyes.

She had me there. Most people don't hold hands at restaurants if they're just friends. I can't tell her that the whole thing is fake, so I did the one thing I knew I had to do.

"It's nothing serious, Tess!" I shouted. "We're just friends!"

That one thing I had to do was keep lying and denying, until tomorrow at least.

Then, Tessa grabbed her phone again and then showed me the TMZ articles. Girl that threw coffee at Joe Jonas as his new girlfriend was one of the first titles I saw. I also saw Joe Jonas left Sophie Turner for coffee girl as another one. That one was made by the Hollywood Reporter.

"That's not what everyone else seems to think, Jess!" Tessa said, and my Cake by the Ocean ringtone started going off. "Oh, is that your baby Joe Jonas? Wouldn't want to disturb you two from being in love!"

She stormed out of the room and I answered Joe Jonas's phone call, putting it to my ear and off the speaker.

"Hey, Jess," Joe said on the phone. "It's working. People actually think we're together!"

"Yeah," I replied. "Even my friend Tessa thinks we're together, Joe."

He sighed and started to talk about what happened at the dock earlier. Frankly, I wasn't interested in talking about the dock right now.

~

I laid in bed, rethinking about what to tell Tessa before the concert. I looked up at the ceiling and kept overthinking until Tessa walked into the room, sitting on the other side of the bed.

"Hey, I wanted to talk," Tessa said. "I wanted to say I'm sorry for blowing up like that."

Tessa was apologizing? That was new for her, considering she was the type of girl that never apologized for the way she overreacts to things. If she should be apologizing, it should be to her phone for almost breaking it. That slam was kind of scary.

"Tess, it's fine," I replied. "I promise you that Joe and I are just friends, nothing more!"

I hated lying to Tessa. She was my best friend and she has always loved the Jonas Brothers. Whenever he got a new girlfriend, she always cried about it. Like, she was so crazy delusional about Joe Jonas. And I suspected that she was always a girl that liked Nick more.

"I'm so excited to see them tomorrow," Tessa shouted. "Maybe I could get my Sacramento shirt signed tomorrow!"

~

I looked over at my best friend, as she was wearing her New York shirt and I smirked at her and then back at the shirt. I was thinking it, she was thinking it.

"Maybe I could get you a signed one," I said. "After all, Joe is my friend."

She squealed and then hugged me so tightly that I couldn't even sign for a breath of air. Once she finally let go, I had to bend my body over and get as much oxygen as I could. She was jumping in the air and squealing. She immediately took off her Jonas Brothers shirt and put it in the laundry.

She was walking around in nothing but a bra, underwear, and a pair of shorts. I laughed at her and then she started laughing as well, walking into her room.

"MAKE SURE YOU PUT A SHIRT ON!" I shouted.

    "I KNOW!" She shouted back.

~

I sat myself down on the couch and turned on some TV to see more news articles about Joe. I sighed, as the news videos about Joe popped up.

"It is rumored that Joe Jonas has a girlfriend FOUR DAYS after he announced his divorce! Could this be his rebound? It's not confirmed yet, but we saw them today holding hands as they left the famous San Francisco dock. They look so cute together, oh don't they?"

I looked at Tessa, who was walking in with popcorn and sat down as the channel switched from the News to old reruns of Game of Thrones, the one his ex wife is on.

"I feel so bad for him," Tessa started to speak. "They are dragging Joe in the media just for trying to have a friend."

Friend. Yeah sure. Totally a friend. I grabbed some popcorn from the bowl that Tessa walked over with. She moved it from her lap to being in between us.

"I feel bad for him too," I replied. "Why don't people just stay out of his life?"

I took a bite of popcorn and continued watching the TV with Tessa until that same ringtone went off. I rushed into the other room before Tessa could see who the contact was. I know that she thinks it's Joe Jonas, and she's correct, but I don't need her to know that it's Joe Jonas and try to interrupt every call we have about our fake relationship.

I answered the call and he was in his tour bus, getting driven to Sacramento. He turned the phone onto FaceTime and I laughed at how messy his hair was.

    "Hey babe," Joe said.

    "Babe?" I asked him.

"Yeah," Joe answered. "If we fake it through the phone, it'll be easier, you know? For tomorrow."

"Ohhh, that's right!" I remembered. "Tomorrow is the day we announce our relationship!"

There was a pause between us as Joe nodded and then set his phone down in front of him. He grabbed a Sacramento shirt and then held it up to me. It almost looked like a jukebox. I liked the design and it had so much orange and so much yellow involved in it. I smiled and then he set the shirt down.

"How do you like the design?" Joe asked me. "I know your favorite color's orange, so I tried to implement some of the orange on it for you!"

He was correct in that orange is one of my favorite colors. I love the color, but I prefer green over orange. He still put the effort in, which was enough for me.

"It looks awesome," I replied. "Also, could you get you and your brothers to sign one for my friend Tessa?"

He grabbed another shirt and signed it. He showed me both signed shirts and I blushed. Why am I blushing right now?

There was another pause as he went on mute and was signaling people to come over to where he was. The other brothers gasped that he signed two of the shirts on his own. After they gasped, he took himself off mute.

"Joe," Nick said. "These are for our fans!"

"Yeah, but..." Joe started saying. "This one is for Jessica and this one's for her friend Tessa."

The brothers nodded and then waved into the camera. I waved back at them as they took the shirts. Kevin signed one shirt while Nick signed the other. Then, they traded shirts and signed them. They then stood up and walked away from the call. It became just me and Joe again.

"Thank you, Joe!" I said. "Tessa is going to scream when she sees this!"
