It's a situation Y/n has not really thought about.

To begin with, he didn't even want it. But really  —  what could be predictable with a puzzle like Arion? Could he have foreseen this? In a way, he has woven himself into the very center of the game's dynamics, essentially replacing his sister in the Crown Prince's route with himself.

Only it is slightly different. Arion doesn't show obsession — only affection. Whatever Angelina and the prince had in the game  —  it's nothing like this.

Surely, Arion wouldn't be some kind of yandere, would he? Y/n doesn't know how to respond to the sudden declaration. He accepted Arion's gift with an embarrassed thank you and had immediately bolted off. Thankfully, the Crown Prince had not followed; he had only given an amused smile. Y/n had stayed quiet in the carriage ride all the way from the city square back to the manor.

No. This is out of his control now. He has been so carried away with the plot, and now...

Y/n feels uncertain — but not wholly unpleasantly so. His heart hammers against his chest as he steps out of the carriage and passes through the grand manor entrance — a sudden development, he thinks, possibly a romantic one. How do I feel about that?

He has always admired Arion, both in the game and in real life. The Crown Prince has undeniable charm and charisma that draws people to him — and, of course, dazzling looks. Y/n grudgingly admits the interactions they've shared aren't bad at all; though brief, he did have fun.

As he enters his room, Y/n closes the door and leans against it.

Gather my thoughts, he decides gravely. I have to gather my thoughts.

His mind replays the day's events, trying to make sense of it all: but then — a loud sound, ringing inside his head.

[Ding!]

Y/n jolts back, heart thumping.

What is that?

[Welcome, new player.]

It grows louder, insistent. Y/n realizes a voice is in his head — and it isn't his own. That thought should worry him, but a tiny part of him expected this. It isn't the full otome game transmigration experience without a system, is it?

[You recovered exceedingly fast.]

The voice is feminine, soft, almost human.

Y/n's eyes widen. He has heard of players transported into virtual worlds, but a system actually talking to him — well, he had imagined it before, having a system — but is this really happening?

His voice trembles as he speaks, and he whispers, "who are you?"
