"hey, Lee?"

"hm?"

"i think I'm gonna head off on my own from now."

"hm."

"okay. um... bye."

"wait, what?!"

vada looked at the boy strangely as koa opened his wings. "I'm heading off alone from now." she stated. koa also looked zuko, seeming to judge the boy.

Zuko, on the other hand, was surprised. they had been heading southeast together for the past few days, he had somehow grown fond of the strange waterbender.

which he'd never admit.

"didn't you want to travel together?" he asked and paused for a moment. "for safety?"

vada let out a laugh. "I'm sure you'll be fine, Lee. but it's time for me to find my own path now." she told the boy gently.

"alright, well." zuko cleared his throat. "I'll see you around."

without a second thought, vada leaned off of koa and hugged the boy tightly. she took in his warmth for a moment before letting go. a giddy feeling bubbled in her chest as she stared into his amber eyes for a moment.

"see you around." she said with a smile as koa took flight, heading south instead of southeast.

it's been a day since then and vada's life was now, once again, uneventful. she had enjoyed joyed 'Lee's' company, solely because he was now the one who had to listen to her constant yapping instead of koa.

and he didn't whine about it like her eagle-wolf friend.

she had grown fond of the boy with the dual swords. his tough exterior always seemed to soften ever so slightly whenever she would begin to tell him about one of her bazare stories of when she was first roaming the earth kingdom when she was younger.

now, she was just flying over another forest in the earth kingdom.

koa let out a whine and vada sighed. "yeah. I miss him, too."

the canine was so sick and tired of this girl. so, he barked instead and looked down to the ground where two kids dressed in blue were fighting two girls dressed in red.

"oh! sorry koa!" she said and guided him to descend.

as he hopped off of her canine companion, she bent up a large wave from the river that washed the two firenation girls away.

koa who had picked up the boy dressed in watertribe clothing and laid him flat on the ground.

"thanks koa." the waterbender said and petted the wolf's head before bending down to examine the seeming paralised (and very terrified) boy.

"no! what are you doing? get away from him!" katara yelled from her stuck-to-the-tree position. vada sent a gush of water to take the blades in the tree out and allow the girl to get towards her.

katara walked closer the the older girl and sat down across from her as she manipulated the glowing blue water over sokka's arms.

"his chi is blocked." katara informed.

vada, who was feeling the blocked chipath, and trying to pull it open again, gave the younger girl a look. "I know."

"it can't be healed, you'd just have to wait it out."

"i know what I'm doing, kid." the older girl deadpanned (she really didn't) , finally pulling the chipath open, causing sokka to be able to feel and move his arm again.
