Alessio's words were a heated blanket that my mind wrapped around, feeding off of it until I couldn't take it anymore.
I turned my face, meeting his eyes as I tried to find the lie in them, but he was serious.
"I don't need you to do anything for me," I snapped at him before walking away. I spotted the circular table that he was talking about as soon as I lifted my gaze. Rafe, Dario, Joseph and their sisters were all sitting there. Along with Elisia and Julian. They were all staring over by the bar and at me and god it pissed me off even more. I wasn't mad at them, I was pissed at Alessio.
He's lucky I got the goddamn necklace for him even amidst the chaos.
I approached the table, fighting my way through the crowd and people staring. I hated this dress now, it only drew more attention that I didn't want. I sat at the only empty seat at the table which was in between Rafe and what I was assuming was his sister. I looked over at the bar immediately.
Salvatore was looking straight at me, talking to his son while Sebastian had someone's handkerchief on his nose and mouth. Alessio was sitting down, a drink in his hands.
"I'm Vittoria," a gentle voice said next to me. I looked over, looking down at the hand she had out for me to shake. She was pretty, and looked just like her brothers. More alike to Dario than Raffaele. Both were attractive too.
Let's just say that all the Bertelli's had good genes.
She had long dark blonde hair, and a light shade of blue eyes. I shook her hand hesitantly, looking around the table. Gia, who was Joseph's sister, was sitting next to Vittoria. She smiled at me as I muttered off my name to them. Even though they both probably already knew.
Vittoria smiled, "we should definitely be friends. You can call me Ria for short."
"Leave her alone, Vittoria," Rafe muttered, looking at his sister before he looked over at me. He had a little smirk on his face and it was no wonder why Anna had fallen for him that night at the club.
I looked away from him, my gaze going back on Alessio.
"Looks like he wants to kill everyone around him right now," Dario muttered, laughing under his breath.
It did look like that. Alessio was looking at Sebastian, saying something that made the muscles in Alessio's back tense. Salvatore was now drinking dark liquor in a tall glass, his bodyguards only feet away from him.
It was funny how Salvatore walked around with protection. When his biggest threat was in the room with him.
"When did S start working for you guys?" I asked suddenly, calling my brother what Salvatore called him.
"Mm. About more than ten years now. Don't even know where old Sal found him," Rafe muttered, leaning back in his chair. I glanced over at him. He was rolling a cigarette between his fingers but it wasn't lit.
