San's POV
I follow Jongho upstairs and to the balcony.
I watch as Jongho gazes up at the moonlit sky, feeling the wind blowing on his skin.
I can only see the back of his head , but I can sense a smile forming on his lips.
He stays that way for a few seconds, engrossed in the beauty of the night, until he finally lets out a slight chuckle.
"Hyung! How long are you going to stand there watching me! You know, it's really creepy when you do that." Jongho turns to face me, smiling wide.
I'm Seeing my brother after so long, I can't help but smile either.
"Oh come here!" We give each a big hug. Neither of us pulled apart and instead just embraced each other's warmth.
"I missed you hyung!"
"I missed you too kiddo" I pull away and ruffle his hair.
"When did you come back? You didn't even give me call!" I complain.
"I only landed the night before we ran into each other at Wooyoung's house! And since you mentioned it, why did you act like you had no clue who I was that day? Even during dinner that night, you were glaring at me!"
He complains, angrily crossing his arms in , and waiting for me to give an explanation.
I rub the back of my head, embarrassed at my own behaviour.
"Oh that....it's just....I was kinda....ugh, I'm sorry Jongho I have no excuse for treating you that way. I'm terribly sorry."
Jongho still stands there pouting.
I sigh.
"Aw don't be like that! I really am sorry. I'll buy you anything you want as an apology"
Jongho smiles cheekily.
"Ok! I won't be mad at you anymore"
I roll my eyes.
Aish this kid. He always knows how to get his way.
Jongho and I are only 2 years apart. We were extremely close when we were children. But unfortunately our Dad decided to send Jongho to US for his senior high school years, so that he can "get used to life there and make connections".
Apparently Dad wanted Me to handle his business in Korea so that he and Jongho could move to US and make it possible to expand his business overseas.
Jongho and I had absolutely no say in this matter and could do nothing but abide by our father's decisions. We usually never get a chance to speak our minds in this household.
So, just like that, we both had to part ways at a young age. At first we used to FaceTime each other almost everyday. But then as days went by, and both of us got busier with school and university, the daily FaceTime changed to weekly calls and further got degraded to monthly texts.
But when our parents got divorced it got harder to contact each other. We got to a point where we would never communicate and instead only send each other gifts on our birthdays. Seeing him now after all these years is so overwhelming. I just want to lock him up in my wardrobe and keep him near me forever.
"Anyways, how do you know Wooyoung?" Jongho asks me.
"We went to university together"
"Oh! So you guys are friends! That day at wooyoung's house, he seemed like he did not want to associate the term 'friend' with you!"
I tighten my lip.
"Yeah no we used to be friends. But now we aren't." I clarify.
Jongho looks at me confused. But before he could ask his next question, I interrupt him.
"What about you? How do you know Wooyoung?"
"Oh, We met in US, we both were interns in the same company. It was hell for me, but when Wooyoung came into the scene everything changed. I actually looked forward to going to office everyday just to spend the day with him. He's awesome!"
Ahh I see....they were co workers.
I sigh and ruffle Jongho's hair.
He's so adorable!
"JONGHO!!! Where are you?" Wooyoung yells from downstairs.
"I guess we should get back" Jongho says and walks past me, inside.
I slightly panic at the thought that Jongho might reveal that we're related. I quickly grab his arm and stop him from leaving.
"Wait! Can we please not tell them we're brothers? You know, me and wooyoung aren't in good terms at the moment and if he knows we're related it might end up ruining your friendship."
Jongho looks at me skeptically.
"Ok....but hyung, what happened between you two?"
I sigh.
"I'll tell you when the time is right, ok. Wait for me until I'm ready to tell you."
He looks unsure but nods anyway.
"Now go downstairs, they're waiting for you!"
He makes his way downstairs as I stare up at the moon peeking from the silver lined clouds, feeling the night winds blowing soundlessly.
