As you both made your way to the more shady side of town. The streets were lined with dilapidated buildings and the scent of garbage and decay filled the air.
You pulled your jacket tighter around you, feeling a shiver run down your spine. You couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in your stomach. You speed walked to catch up with Bakugo.
You glanced over at him, now walking beside you with one hand stuffed in his pocket and the other holding the phone, following the dot on the screen.
He seemed to be in his element here, his fiery personality fitting in perfectly with the grit and grime of this side of town. But for you, someone who had grown up in the safety and comfort of the suburbs, this place was like a foreign land.
The streets were littered with broken glass and discarded trash, the buildings were covered in graffiti and the few people that passed by gave you both suspicious glances.
You still couldn't help but feel like you were being watched, and it made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Bakugo seemed unfazed by it all, striding confidently down the street.
His presence was almost intimidating, and you found yourself walking a little closer to him, seeking some sort of protection.
As you both turned down a particularly dark alleyway, you couldn't help but notice the way the shadows seemed to dance and play on the walls. It was like they were alive, taunting and teasing you. You quickened your pace, eager to get out of this place.
But Bakugo didn't seem to notice or care. He kept walking at the same steady pace, his eyes focused straight ahead. You wondered if he even realized how uncomfortable you were feeling.
As you made it to the edge of the alleyway, it opened up to a much bigger space. You looked up, shielding your eyes from the bright sunlight, and stared at the massive structure that loomed over you.
The highway was like a giant metal beast, with its countless pillars and beams stretching out in every direction. The sound of cars rushing overhead filled your ears, drowning out the distant sounds of the city.
But there stood alone was a building, there was so much space but they chose to put the building under a highway.
You stared at it confused, there was no big sign and it didn't look like it was open. "Is that the place?" You asked, pointing to the abandoned building.
"It's the only one here," Bakugo replied, looking around.
Bakugo kept hold of the phone as he led the way to the building, still looking around. You stepped closer, scanning the old building with curiosity and a hint of apprehension.
The heavy wooden door stood tall and imposing, with rusted hinges. Bakugo reached out and grabbed onto the handle, his fingers wrapping tightly around it. He pushed, but the door didn't budge.
It was as if it was mocking him, daring him to try harder. Bakugo growled in frustration, his explosive temper bubbling just beneath the surface. He took a few steps back and kicked at the door. But still, it refused to open.
"Bakugo, maybe if you-"
"Shut up," Bakugo interrupted as he paced back and forth. With determination in his eyes, Bakugo took a deep breath and charged at the door, his body colliding with it with a loud thud. The impact shook the entire building, but the door remained firmly shut.
You watched with wide eyes as Bakugo's rubbed his shoulder.
"Fuck it."
The sounds of cars were no longer heard, due to the sudden deafening explosion. It was so loud that it felt like your eardrums would burst, you instinctively covered your ears with your hands, hoping to muffle the sound. But it was so overwhelming that it seemed to reverberate through your entire being.
