As the snowflakes gently fell from the sky, you laid on your back in the fresh powder, breathing in the crisp winter air. Next to you was Bakugo, also known as the explosive hero, Katsuki Bakugo. You couldn't believe it he was right there, right beside you. It felt like a dream.
You both had just finished making snow angels, both laughing and mostly Bakugo shoving you into the snow. But now, as the two of you finally caught your breath, Bakugo's mind seemed to be elsewhere.
"What are you thinking about," you asked, turning your head to look at him.
It was silent for a moment as Bakugo fought with himself to say something. "This other damn universe may be shitty but it's alright, I guess," Bakugo finally said as he looked up at the gray sky.
You sat up on your elbows, asking, "What did you say?"
Bakugo looked at you confused. "What?"
"What just came out of your mouth right now?" You repeated in a different question.
Bakugo sat there for a second, clearly thinking of what he had just said. "This place is shit?"
"No, something else, what did you say about. . .universe! Universe."
"What are you getting at, Uso-tsuki?" Bakugo questioned as he sat himself up.
"Universe. . .universe. . .universes, Universes!" You shouted, now fully sitting up. "I know. I know what we have to do, oh my god! It's was literally in our faces," you stated as you stood up, cleaning the snow off of your legs.
Bakugo copied the same gesture, still not understanding what you were saying. "Fucking tell me," Bakugo shouted, his patience wearing thin.
"The rug," you mumbled under your breath. It was so clear.
You realized that the rug was a big example of the multiverse. It wasn't a window illustration but a reflection of it. "Each thread represents a different universe or a path of it, the threads interlock with each other. It's like a never-ending puzzle, each strand connected to another, creating an infinite web of possibilities. All the universes are connected and hold each other in place," you started to explain.
Bakugo stared at you as if you were crazy, "What the fuck are you saying?"
"The multiverse, like different dimensions and alternate realities," you stated, now pacing back and forth through the snow. You waved Bakugo off and went back into your thinking.
He was still completely bewildered. "How do you even know about the multiverse?"
"Movies and comics," you answered. Then something clicked, "Comic. . .books. Comic books- books, we need books!" You started to shout, sprinting over to Bakugo. You started to search his pockets, but he quickly pushed you away.
"Don't touch me," Bakugo warned.
"I need my phone, I need to find a book."
Bakugo grunted and stuffed his hand into his pocket. The silence was deafening as Bakugo searched around for a moment. "Here," Bakugo grumbled as he pulled out a phone.
You instantly grabbed it, unlocking it and searching up what you needed. "There are a bunch of books about this," you told, still scrolling. Unexpectedly, you shouted, "Twelve days just to get a book delivered?"
"We need free books, where can you get free books?" You looked up to Bakugo.
"A library," Bakugo answered.
"A library, perfect," you said as you began to search up near libraries.
You scrolled to two libraries, searching through their online databases of their books.
"Damn," Bakugo muttered under his breath.
You looked up to him to see his usually fiery and confident demeanor was replaced with a look of pain and discomfort.
His typically sharp eyes were now squinted shut, and his usually upright posture was slumped over, as if the weight of his head was too much to bear.
"You ok?" You asked, stepping closer to him.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he mumbled, his voice strained.
"You must be having those headaches Bondye said you would." You stuffed your hand into his pocket, searching around for the necklace.
This time Bakugo did nothing to stop you. "Which pocket was it?" You questioned as you stood in front of him, reaching into the other pocket.
Then you felt it, the smooth crystal against your fingers. You pulled it out, "Maybe if you actually put the necklace on this wouldn't be happening." You put the necklace over his head, his spikes poking you as you did.
You placed the necklace around his neck, your fingers brushing against his skin.
Bakugo's breath caught in his throat as you fastened the clasp, "Are you done?" Bakugo asked, glaring down at you as you looked over his shoulder.
"Yeah," you replied, your hands lingering on his neck for just a moment longer than necessary.
As you stepped back, Bakugo's intense gaze locked onto yours. Bakugo broke the silent staring as he looked down, reaching up and touching the necklace, his fingers tracing the crystal. "This thing is really ugly."
"I think it looks good on you," you replied faster than you should've.
Bakugo scoffed, "Don't say shit you don't mean, Uso-tsuki."
"I do mean it."
"Yeah, whatever. Thanks, I guess."
Bondye had been watching the two ever since they left the building. She couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and admiration for these two young kids, she knew that the fate of their world, and many others, rested on their shoulders.
The two were destined for greatness, but they were still young and inexperienced, and they would need guidance and protection as they embarked on their journey. That's why she had called upon a person.
Bondye's door opened and the mysterious figure entered her room. He was tall and cloaked in a dark robe, his face hidden in the shadows.
"So you lost them," Bondye said, her eyes never wavering from the window.
She watched as Bakugo shoved Y/n away, audibly showing his annoyance.
"I've been watching them ever since that blonde boy got here, I was on that bus and I had them. They were right there in a hand's grasp, but that other one-"
"Y/n."
"Y/n. . .Y/n's smart," he stated. "They both left the bus and walked all the way while I had to ditch it in order to get here at this time."
Bondye slowly walked toward him, staring at him from the shadows. She then grab him by the collar of his jacket, saying, "You better not mess up this time. If they see you again you're done, got that buddy?"
The man nodded, snatching his jacket back from her. "So you didn't tell them then," the man questioned.
Bondye replied, "I couldn't, it wouldn't have been right."
The figure nodded, agreeing to her.
"So I want you to keep watch over them," Bondye stated, her voice serious. "They are the key to maintaining balance in this universe, and many others. We cannot afford for them to get off track, they're teenagers. I know they will, so that's why I need you to be with them."
The figure nodded solemnly. "I will do as you ask, Bondye. I will make sure that they are protected and guided on their journey."
"Thank you," Bondye said, grateful for the reassurance. "I know they're in good hands with you."
With a final nod, the figure disappeared into the shadows, leaving Bondye alone with her thoughts once again.
She knew that the fate of the multiverse laid in the hands of these two, and she was confident that they would rise to the challenge.
"Y/n, let's hope that you're as good as Destiny and Fate say you are."
